29-years-old Xherdan Shaqiri has popped up at times but has never been able to leave a long-lasting impact on any team he has played for. He started his career with FC Basel when he was just an 8-year-old boy progressing through the youth ranks of the club and growing along the way.
Known for his tremendous ball control and extraordinary vision, he secured a transfer to German Champions Bayern Munich in 2012 for a transfer fee of around €11.6 million on a 4-year deal. Meanwhile, he had to fight for his position in the first team of Bayern who had talent in abundance.
Decline in career
He was not able to establish himself in the first team at Bayern Munich and moved to Serie-A club Inter Milan on a 4-year deal where he featured in 20 games for the club in all competitions scoring 3 goals for the club. Inter Milan were very disappointed in the end and sold him to Premier League club Stoke City where he stayed until their relegation from the Premier League.
