5. Nantes – 8 Titles
FC Nantes is seen as a lower-tier club by modern fans. However, just a few people are aware of this club’s achievements in the twentieth century. FC Nantes has won eight Ligue 1 championships.
FC Nantes won the Ligue 1 title for the first time in the 1964-65 season and the last time in the 2000-01 season. Since then, the emergence of other teams in the league has inevitably led to FC Nantes’ demise. They are currently 10th in the Ligue 1 table with 32 points from 22 matches.

PSG’s star-studded lineup has demolished several colossal football clubs on their way to becoming one of the best in recent history. Despite this, Paris Saint-Germain is only the third most successful team to win the French league title, tied with Olympique Marseille (9 titles each). Last year, PSG was unable to win the title by just 1 point. They had 82 points at the end of the season, while the winners, Lille, had 83.
PSG is currently at the top of the table and is ahead of the second team by 11 points. They have 53 points from 22 matches this season, conceding only one loss. 2. Marseille – 9 Titles
Olympique de Marseille comes next in the list of the top 5 teams with the most Ligue 1 titles, with 9 titles. The club, which was founded in 1899, has spent most of its history in France’s top division. Nine Ligue 1 titles, ten Coupes de France, and three Coupes de la Ligue have been won by the club. The team defeated Milan 1–0 in the final of the UEFA Champions League in 1993, becoming the first and only French club to do so. Marseille won the Ligue 1 title for the first time in 18 years in 2010 under the direction of Didier Deschamps, a former club captain. The club has a record number of runner-up finishes in Ligue 1 history. They have finished the season as the second-best team a record 12 times in the competition’s history.

1. Saint-Etienne – 10 Titles
Saint Etienne has the richest history in Ligue 1, having won 10 Ligue 1 titles, which is the most of any other team. The club also finished runner-up 3 times in the league’s history.
Saint Etienne had to wait seven seasons after winning the title for the first time in the 1956-57 season. This club, however, went on to win 10 Ligue 1 titles in 25 years, four of which were consecutive.
