Transfer News 2021-22: Manchester United Want More Than €4/5 Million For Portuguese Right-Back Diogo Dalot

Have a look at the transfer news of Premier League club Manchester United who are not willing to sell Portuguese right-back Diogo Dalot cheaply.

Italian club AC Milan were interested to make the loan move permanent of Diogo Dalot but the strong stance of Manchester United has forced them to look elsewhere. Meanwhile, AC Milan have agreed on personal terms with Roma right-back Alessandro Florenzi.

The Portuguese International had a shaky start to his Manchester United career but a successful loan spell with AC Milan previously proved to be a key in the development of the player. However, Milan are not willing to meet the €5million valuation of the player from Portugal.

Premier League club Manchester United were looking for a right-back ahead of the new season to provide some competition to Wan Bissaka and the worthy replacement they could find is Kevin Trippier. Bissaka’s not that good a threat when going forward as compared to Trippier who likes to advance further up the pitch on the right side.

United’s pursuit of Trippier has now stalled as the return of Diogo Dalot from AC Milan has prompted them to look for a midfielder rather than spending big money on the defender. Dalot joined the club in 2018 for a transfer fee of around £19 million which was a bit more from United’s perspective.

Dalot was not able to understand the pace and rough football of Premier League and featured occasionally in the Manchester United team. However, a loan spell at AC Milan in the last season changed the player completely who has now returned to the club more confident than ever ahead of the new season and has shown his quality in the pre-season.

22-year-old has played in 33 games in all competitions for AC Milan finding the net twice during his time at the club. He impressed the coaching staff and quickly became an important player for the team.
