Juventus vs Benfica, Prediction, H2H, Team Betting Odds, and Team News- UEFA Champions League 2022/23

Tonight’s Champions League round will see Juventus host Benfica at the Allianz Stadium.

Benfica is set to fly to Turin as Juventus will be host to another round of Champions League football.

The Old Lady have been dominating Italian football over the last decade and their performances in Europe have been worthwhile too. However, last season saw the decline of Juventus as they struggled to finish in the champions league spot. Things have not been good this season as well, as the Club from Turin currently sits 8th in the league standings with just 2 wins and 4 costly draws. Whether or not Juventus qualify out of the group stage is tough to predict but all we can say is that time is running out for the Allegri’s men who need to find form quickly.

Benfica on the other hand, are flying high as they are currently undefeated in all competitions so far. Domestically, Benfica have been spot-on winning all six matches which puts them on top of the table. In the opening Champions League match, they beat Maccabi Haifa 2-0 which saw rafa Silva and Alejandro Grimaldo get on the scoresheet. Even after losing their star man from last season in Darwin Nunez, The Portuguese club looks better than ever and will surely prove to be the dark horses in this campaign.

Juventus vs Benfica:  Players to watch out

Dusan Vlahovic

Dusan Vlahovic joined Juventus halfway into the season but managed to get them into the top four in Serie A. The striker hit the ground running and ended the season with an incredible 24 goals in the league. This season as well, Vlahovic is showing no signs of slowing down with four goals in six appearances playing for a struggling Juventus side.

Rafa Silva

Rafa Silva has always stepped up on important occasions for Benfica. This season the forward has already scored 4 goals and grabbed an assist in the Portuguese league.  The winger is often a threat to defenses due to his raw pace and technical ability. Last year, Benfica had a great run in the champions league as well as domestically with 26 goal contributions. There’s no doubt, that Silva will be giving his best against a shaky Juventus side.

Juventus vs Benfica:  Predicted Line-Up

Juventus: Mattia Perin; Danilo, Leonardo Bonucci, Gleison Bremer, Alex Sandro; Weston McKennie, Leandro Paredes, Fabio Miretti; Juan Cuadrado, Filip Kostic, Dusan Vlahovic

Benfica: Odysseas Vlachodimos; Alex Grimaldo, Antonio Silva, Nicolas Otamendi, Gilberto; Enzo Fernandez, Florentino Luis; David Neres, Rafa Silva, Joao Mario; Goncalo Ramos

Juventus vs Benfica: Who is going to Win this match?

Juventus are currently in a mess and their head coach Max Allegri is likely to be given the sack. Apart from that, Juventus did reinforce the squad with notable signings such as Angel Di Maria and Paul Pogba, however, most of those key players are yet to prove their worth, while others are injured. Not to mention, Matthijs De Ligt, who was arguably the best central defender has left the club.

Meanwhile, with the kind of form Benfica is in, it’s hard not to consider them as a threat. Benfica might not have big names in their lineup but they play with such intensity that can leave their opponents with no option but to just stand and watch.

Thus, Benfica is expected to defeat Juventus with quite some margin.
