Deepak Chahar will remain on the sides after a back injury for 4 months. He will also miss T20 World Cup 2022

Chennai Super Kings received a big blow after Deepak’s quadriceps tear. But there were hopes that the player will return mid-season. However, in rehab at the NCA, Deepak incurred another injury. This back injury looks severe and he was ruled out of the IPL 2022 with immediate effect. Now the question arises will Deepak be paid his IPL auction price. it is to be noted that CSK has made their highest bid in the history of IPL in the Mega auction 2022, buying Deepak Chahar for a staggering INR 14 crores.

The scans suggest the back injury will keep Deepak out of the game for around 4 months. This would create big trouble for Indian team selectors as well, as the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 will be played in October-November. Currently, Deepak is one of the most crucial all-rounders in the Indian setup.

Deepak will not miss out on his IPL fees. Since Deepak has a ‘Grade C’ contract with the BCCI, he will get his IPL fees for 2022 without playing even a single match. BCCI has insurance for all its contracted players as a part of one of its policies. Despite not playing a single match, Deepak will be paid his full fees. BCCI uses the insurance to pay half of the fee in such situations. However, the other half still comes from the franchise. This rule came into effect only in 2011, that despite an injury a BCCI-contracted player will get full compensation.
