Over the years, we’ve seen some jaw-dropping knocks from batsmen in the T20 format. T20s have been cherished by the younger demographic as it promises non-stop cricketing action. The fastest fifties, fastest hundreds all have one thing in common: setting the stage on fire with those massive sixes. Sixes may be considered to be the prominent currency of the T20s. This article pays tribute to such era-defining knocks. Therefore, here’s a list of the top five players with the most sixes in a T20I inning.
5. Evin Lewis – 12 sixes vs India, 2017
Dropped while batting on 55 by Dinesh Karthik, Lewis made sure that the Indians paid a hefty price. Lewis carried on his innings without a hiccup as the onslaught resumed. In addition, Evin Lewis hit a dozen sixes and went on to become the first cricketer to score a century twice against India. With his unbeaten 125, Lewis helped West Indies romp to a nine-wicket win over the Men-in-Blue.
4. Richard Levi – 13 sixes vs New Zealand, 2012
One of the many hidden gems in the T20I archives does feature a sensational knock from one Richard Levi. The opener burst into the scene from out of nowhere with a staggering 45-ball ton. His inning was the fastest hundred by any batsman in T20Is till that point as it rained sixes that infamous night in Hamilton. Smashing a whopping 13 sixes in his innings on his way to scoring an unbeaten 117, Richard Levi occupies the fourth position.

2. Aaron Finch – 14 sixes vs England, 2013
Aaron Finch is unarguably one of the modern-day greats when it comes to white-ball cricket and his records speak for himself. His innings of 156 were power-packed by 14 humungous sixes which brought the Southampton crowd to their feet. Above all, his innings were detrimental to Australia’s victory over their arch-rivals as they comprehensively beat them by a margin of 39 runs.
1. Hazratullah Zazai – 16 sixes vs Ireland, 2019
Capping off the list, we have Afghanistan’s pinch-hitter Hazratullah Zazai. Hitting 16 sixes and 11 fours in his innings, the Southpaw helped Afghanistan post an almost God-like total of 278-3 in 20 overs. Watching the relentless butchering of the Irish bowlers made you almost feel sorry for them as they were well and truly outclassed by Hazrat. In conclusion, his innings of 162 in this innings was and still remains to be the second-highest individual score in T20i cricket.
