PBKS vs LSG: Live Score and Update

PBKS vs LSG: LSG move to second on the table!

Lucknow Super Giants have won by 56 runs on a record-breaking night. This is the highest aggregate runs scored in the an IPL game (458 runs). The fate of the game was almost sealed when LSG amassed 257. Punjab Kings had a uphill task chasing 258 and fell short by a significant margin. One might say they could have shown more intent but chasing a huge total is never easy. LSG have boosted their NRR and are at second spot on the table.

No Heroics from Livingstone!

Liam Livingstone has to depart after being trapped plumb in front of the wicket by Ravi Bishnoi. He reviews just because they have two left, but there wasn’t much hope there. It was always going to be out. PBKS need to start thinking of their NRR here! They need 106 runs from 28 balls. Must try and knock off as many runs as possible in these remaining deliveries.

Taide goes too!

Ravi Bishnoi completes a caught & bowled to dismiss Atharva Taide for a well-made 66. The ball went straight up. The bowler went back a few paces, had eyes on the ball and took it close to his chest. The bowler fell on his back as he lost his footing but managed to hang on to it. PBKS lose another and LSG are way way ahead in this game now. The score is 127/4 at the end of 13 overs and 130 more runs are needed. Livingstone and Curran in the middle.

PBKS lose Raza!

Yash Thakur strikes. The ball was there to hit and he had to go after it. There are not many choices when the required rate is around 17 RPO. Raza hops up and slaps a wide delivery to deep cover where Krunal takes a safe catch. This brings Liam Livingstone to the crease. Atharva Taide continues on his merry way as he ramps and scoops Yash Thakur over the keeper for boundaries. PBKS still need 140 runs from 48 balls. The highest number of runs chased off the last 8 overs is 125 (MI vs CSK at Delhi in 2021).

PBKS vs LSG: PBKS trail massively!

At the same stage, LSG were 128/2. PBKS trail massively in this run chase, with required rate flying into 16 runs per over now. Atharva Taide has brought up his maiden IPL fifty and is batting superbly but needs some help from the other end. PBKS 93/2 after 10 overs. They need 165 runs in just 60 balls! They need to find the 20-25 runs overs regularly now.

PBKS vs LSG: PBKS 55/2 after the powerplay!

19 runs behind of what LSG were at the same stage! Punjab Kings need to buck up here, they are chasing the second-highest total of the IPL. A brilliant opportunity for Young Taide, he has nothing to lose and everything to gain here. And he is making good use of it too, and has played some splendid shots too. He has the aggressor in the powerplay. He has Sikandar Raza at the other end as they chase 203 runs from 84 balls. Punjab need Raza to fire here.

Impact Player(LSG): Kyle Mayers is substituted as Amit Mishra enters as an impact player!

Prabhsimran dpearts!

Length ball slanted in on leg, Prabhsimran looks to pull and hits it straight to deep backward square! Just like his opening partner, he picks the only fielder in the deep comfortably. PBKS 31/2.

Dhawan gone early!

PBKS lose their captain early. This ball was on the seventh stump and he charged and slapped it to the only fielder on the off-side. Poor start for Punjab as Dhawan walks away for just a solitary run. PBKS 3/1 after the first over.

PBKS vs LSG: LSG end with 2nd highest score in the IPL!

Only the second time this that 250 has been breached in the IPL! LSG end up with second-highest total in the history of IPL, they fall 6 short of RCB’s 263. This has been a total carnage. 41 boundaries have been struck in the first innings(27 fours and 14 sixes). It is a belter of a wicket, a wicket where bowlers can just bowl and hope to get wickets because all bowling plans are going to the bin. LSG 257/5 at the end of first innings.

Punjab Kings need 258 runs from 120 balls. They need to go after it from ball 1, no other way. It would need some performance by PBKS batters to even reach anywhere near this total. They do have an ultra-aggressive batting line-up tough, but 12.90 RPO from ball 1 is tough. The chase coming up shortly. It’s Payback week in the IPL and LSG might just avenge their loss against PBKS.

PBKS vs LSG: LSG set up for a huge finish!

74 runs in the powerplay. 110 runs in the middle overs! They need 80 more runs to beat RCB’s 263. Pooran has come out with the intent of striking them big. Stoinis is already hitting them big and is on the verge of a half-century. Can LSG beat RCB’s highest score? We’ll find out in the next 40 minutes. LSG 184/3 after 15 overs.

Livingstone breaks the partnership!

Livingstone is pumped and he runs in and celebrates with his keeper. He stepped on the boundary rope while taking a catch. He has redeemed himself by picking Badoni and breaking the 89-run stand. Pooran comes to the crease and he greets Livingstone with a hat-trick of fours. LSG are 175/3 in only 14 overs.

PBKS vs LSG: Boundaries flowing, Runs pouring at the halfway mark!

54 runs have been added since the end of the powerplay! Punjab Kings have removed both the openers but it hasn’t stopped the Super Giants from scoring runs. Ayush Badoni and Marcus Stoinis are striking them at an S/R of 170+. A few cheeky boundaries, a few convincing ones but the boundaries keep coming for LSG! They are 128/2 at the halfway mark. We have seen teams pile 120-130 runs in the last 10 pretty easily. LSG can end up with a very huge total here. Can PBKS hit back?

Impact Player(PBKS): Prabhsimran Singh comes in for Gurnoor Brar! Less then an hour on-field for the debutant!

PBKS vs LSG: Mayers off to a flier!

Kyle Mayers came out to bat with some intent tonight. Mayers scored a 20-ball fifty and went after every PBKS bowler. Rabada had the last laugh as he dismissed the big-hitting West Indian by cramping him for room with a back of length delivery. That is the 8th wicket for Rabada vs LSG in his 3rd game. Kagiso Rabada is making a significant impact in his comeback game. Maybe Shikhar missed the trick by not giving him the first over, but anyway they’ll welcome the wickets now. End of a thunderous powerplay, LSG 74/2 after 6 overs.

Rabada gets rid of Rahul!

Kagiso Rabada after being smashed for a six gets KL Rahul off a cross-seam delivery. Back of the length delivery hitting the deck at 140 clicks climbs on Rahul and edges it straight to Shahrukh at short third. Instant Impact by Rabada, striking with his second delivery. LSG 45/1 after 4 overs.
