LSG vs PBKS: Live Cricket Score and Update

LSG vs PBKS: Shahrukh Khan drags Punjab home!

Another last over finish in the IPL! Heart stopping stuff this!! Kudos to Shahrukh Khan, what a knock under pressure!! With 7 to get off the last over, he came out attacking confidently. All he needed was three deliveries to do the job. PBKS win by 8 wickets.

Sikandar Raza notched up his maiden IPL fifty to steer the chase in the middle phase! Bishnoi’s brilliance almost won LSG the game. He should have been introduced earlier perhaps. Keeping him for the death allowed the game to slip away in the middle phase! But as of now, the Kings have held their nerves! a good win for an relatively inexperienced side that took field today!

18th over: 1 ,0wd., 6, 1, 4, W, 0!

The previous three deliveries went for 11 runs, including a six by Shahrukh and a four by Brar. But Wood’s pace gets an leading edge and 8th wicket falls. Wood ends the over with a dot, leaving 7 runs to get from last 6 balls!

Raza is dismissed, LSG storm back!

This game has had its ebbs and flows! Another twist occurs as Raza fails to nail his slog-sweep. Stoinis takes a good catch in the deep. Raza holds his head in his hands, he is disappointed!!! What an over this is from Bishnoi to keep Lucknow alive!  PBKS 140/7, need 20 runs from 12 balls! Wood to bowl the penultimate, Shahrukh on strike.. this over could define the result of the game!!

More action, More drama!

Shahrukh has came and smashed Mark Wood for a six on his first ball! The first ball of the very next over witnesses an runout opportunity! Sikandar Raza has made it tough, but not by much!.. Another cliffhanger brewing here! The game stands in balance as the RR is 8.29 with the last recognized pair at the crease!

Flying KL Rahul sends Jitesh back!

A stunning catch by the captain of LSG!! This has broken the game wide open. This was a full delivery outside off, Jitesh looks to drive but fails to middle it. It went wide of mid-off but a diving KL Rahul ensures the ball doesn’t pass through his hands. Excellent catch and PBKS lose a wicket at an important time! Umpires signal timeout!!

Another tense finish on cards!.. PBKS 122/6, 38 more needed from 25 balls!

LSG vs PBKS: 45 off the last 5 to win!

Punjab Kings have done well in the middle phase. They have scored 70/2 in the middle phase. Sikandar Raza pushed the acceleration by taking Krunal Pandya for 17. The captain Sam Curran was looking to be positive but holed out to Krunal Pandya off the bowling of Sam Curran! Jitesh Sharma and Sikandar Raza in the middle.

PBKS 115/5 after 15 overs, need 45 more from 30 balls!.. Just need to hold their nerves and play smartly to win it from here! The key is not throw their wickets away.

Krunal to Bhatia: 4,0,1,W!

Harpreet tried to attack Krunal but falls in the process. Krunal fires one on his pads not giving him room and he still swings only to find Yudhvir at deep backward square! Sam Curran has came out to bat. joining Sikandar Raza in the middle!

PBKS 75/4 (11 overs), 85 runs more to win from 54 balls! Raza needs to fire now, look for those big hits!

PBKS 68/3 at the halfway stage!

A recovery of sorts as a partnership is brewing! The partnership is 23 now off 24 balls. They should look to improve the scoring rate without losing wicket. Easier said than done tough! Punjab certainly in with a chance as they have Jitesh Sharma, Shahrukh Khan and Sam Curran to follow! PBKS 68/3 (10 overs), 92 runs more to win from 60 balls!

LSG vs PBKS: Short walks back at the end of Powerplay!

Matthew Short played some impressive shorts leading the recovery for PBKS but is dismissed on the last ball of the powerplay. Short thinks about going over mid off initially but he chips it straight to mid off. Timely strike for Lucknow! PBKS 45/3 at the end of powerplay, needing 115 more runs to win! Punjab need to build a partnership here

Yudhvir on fire!

The debutant is on fire!.. second wicket in his second over. An overambitious drive by Prabhsimran Singh and he losses his off-stump! The ball shaped back in and went through the gap! PBKS 17/2 (2.2 overs). Both openers gone and very good start by Lucknow! What a day for pacers making their debut?.. First Vijaykumar Vyshak and now Yudhvir !

The debutant gets the debutant!

The debutant Yudhvir Singh has taken the wicket of the opposing debutant Atharva Taide for a duck! Taide gets a top edge and hands an easy catch to third man. Yudhvir gets his maiden wicket and also the first wicket for LSG! PBKS 1/1 (1 over).

Impact Player (PBKS): Prabhsimran Singh in for Rahul Chahar!

LSG vs PBKS: LSG restricted to 159/8

Excellent bowling performance this from the Punjab Kings. They would like to take the momentum in their batting. LSG started well but would be disappointed with the last 5. LSG finish with 159/8. The pitch is two-paced so not an easy chase for sure. But Shahrukh Khan in his interview suggest that dew has settled in. Early advantage that for Punjab but still they would have to bat smartly! Their target then would be 160 runs from 120 balls! Chase coming up shortly.

While we take a break between innings, you can have a quick read of – Ruturaj Gaikwad: The next captain of Chennai Super Kings?

Impact Player (LSG): K Gowtham in for Kyle Mayers!…. He replaces KL Rahul at the crease who was dismissed by Arshdeep for 74 (56). LSG are 152/6 with the final 6 deliveries coming up!!

Stoinis back in the hut!

An caught-behind appeal was sent for review by the stand-in skipper of PBKS. The ultra edge shows a faint edge as ball passes close to the glove. Curran was very confident and rightly so as the decision is overturned. Marcus Stoinis is dismissed caught-behind by Sam Curran for 15. Big wicket this, LSG now 143/5 after 18 overs! Arshdeep Singh to bowl the penultimate over!.. Sam Curran will bowl the last over of the inning. Can they keep them under 165?

LSG vs PBKS: LSG 111/4, Umpire signals timeout!

Kagiso Rabada ha bowled a superb 15th over, gave only 3 runs and picked up 2 crucial wickets. First the set batter Krunal Pandya and then the hero of last game Nicholas Pooran, that too off successive legal deliveries. Shahrukh Khan was the one under the ball om both occasions at deep midwicket.

LSG 111/4 in 15 overs.. Death overs coming up!…. KL Rahul and Marcus Stoinis in the middle!

50 for KL Rahul!

KL Rahul brings his first fifty of the season! His innings has lacked intent but he is showing some aggression here by going after spin. LSG need to find the big overs now!

LSG vs PBKS: PBKS keep things tight at halfway stage!

PBKS are really doing a good job here despite their inexperience. And the irony that their most experienced player Rabada has actually been the one leaking runs. Great start by PBKS, LSG need to build partnership. They still have a lot of firepower left in the shed!

Meanwhile, KL Rahul has became the fastest player to reach 4000 IPL runs. He only took 105 innings to reach the milestone. He broke Chris Gayle’s record who did in 112 innings.

LSG 74/2 after 10 overs. The pitch seems to be two-paced as we see the scoring rate dip down! PBKS would look to restrict them under 165 here given their inexperienced batting line-up!

Raza traps Hooda!

The Lucknow crowd is stunned into silence. A good start with the ball is getting better for Punjab Kings. Sikander Raza has trapped Deepak Hooda plumb in front giving PBKS their second wicket.

LSG 62/2 (8.4)..Umpires have signaled the Strategic Timeout!

PBKS get the first wicket!

Harpreet Brar gets Kyle Mayers. He kept him quite with some tight bowling and then pushed a half-tracker as Mayers holes out at deep square leg. A good low catch by Harpreet Bhatia. LSG 55/1 after 8 overs.

LSG vs PBKS : Powerplay Done!

A decent start for both sides. LSG are scoring at 8 PRO with all wickets in hand. For Punjab they bowled tight lines and not allowed them to run away. First time LSG have gone through the powerplay without losing a wicket.

By the way, this is an very inexperienced Punjab outfit led by Sam Curran, so it will be interesting to see how they perform. Sam Curran is pulling some tricks here, started with spin against Mayers. His tricks are proving effective as they have kept the batters quite for most part of the powerplay. The pitch looks a decent one for batting, the commentators on air feel 185-190 is a par score in the first innings.

LSG 49/0 (6 overs).

This is a fresh wicket but it looks tired. It looks specky, some green patches but some very dry areas. It is a red soil pitch, expect the ball to come on better on this track… says Pitch Report.

UPDATE: Shikhar Dhawan is not playing today due to a niggle. Sam Curran to lead PBKS.
