LSG vs GT: Live Score and Update

LSG vs GT: Gujrat win a close finish!

Gujarat Titans storm back in style to win by 7 runs! 30 runs were needed in 33 balls with 8 wickets in hands. It went downhill pretty quickly for the Super Giants. KL’s strike rate dipped quite a bit even though there is lot of batting right after his fifty. This chase should have been a cake walk for LSG, but it was not to be! Shami and Mohit Sharma were absolutely spot on with their plans in the final two overs. LSG would be gutted, this would sting.

12 runs | 6 balls

Things getting tight in Lucknow, Last 5 overs have only gone for 21 runs!

LSG need 17 runs from 12 balls!

How things stands!

LSG 106/2 (15), need 30 runs in 30 balls

 CRR: 7.07  REQ: 6

KL Rahul 58 (45)

Nicholas Pooran 0 (3)

Chase in control at the halfway mark!

Lucknow Super Giants are doing it rather easily scoring at 8 runs an over. KL Rahul is batting at his fluent best and just making batting look so easy. He also nearing his fifty. Krunal Pandya at the other end is ticking the strike and not allowing any dot balls.

LSG 80/1 after 10 overs. Need 56 more runs from 60 balls!

ICYMI: KL Rahul became the fastest Indian to reach 7000 T20 runs. He also has the second best average in T20 Cricket, only bettered by Babar Azam.

Rashid knocks over Mayers!

A wicket for Gujrat Titans. And it is Rashid Khan doing it once again. He knocks him over with a quicker one that turns in sharply. A few words exchanged between the brothers as soon as he walks in to bat. Hardik Pandya walked out to bat at no. 3 earlier in the day, and now his elder brother – Krunal Pandya walks in to bat at the same position for LSG.

LSG are 55/1 after 7 overs. They need 81 more runs.

LSG off to a flier in the powerplay!

Both the openers took their time had a few sighters and then just launched themselves. It started with a maiden but next 5 overs went for 53 runs. Mayers and Rahul took 16 runs off Rashid’s first over. LSG 53/0 after 6 overs. Need 83 more runs from 84 balls. On a track where batters have struggled, KL is striking it at 150+.

LSG vs GT: Gujrat restricted to 135!!

Gujrat Titans’ captain Hardik Pandya played a good knock scoring 66 runs off 50 balls. But on another sticky afternoon pitch, the Titans struggled to get going and finished with a rather modest score. GT finish with 135/6 after 20 overs. The score isn’t substantial but still, something to bowl at. They were 71/1 at the halfway stage and looked well set for a score of above 150. Bishnoi was expensive tonight.

The target for Lucknow Super Giants is 136 runs from 120 balls. They would be worrying much. But the Titans have a good bowling attack. They have two spinners who are hard to read and it is expected that Sai Kishore will come in as an impact player. Things can get tight and hold still for the second innings.

Impact Player (LSG): Prerak Mankad comes in for Amit Mishra

LSG vs GT: Last 5 overs coming up!

The middle phase of the innings ends with Naveen-ul-Haq taking his maiden IPL wicket. He knocks over Vijay Shankar. Gujrat Titans have lost their way after Saha’s dismissal. It is not an easy surface to bat on, Spinners have got a lot purchase on this pitch. GT would hope they can get a score around 150. They are 92/4 currently in 15 overs.

2 quick wickets for Lucknow!

First Krunal Pandya grabbed his second wicket to dismiss well-set Saha. He sees Saha using his feet and bowls a loopy ball well outside off. Saha ends up lofting it in the air and Hooda grabbing the catch.

Then the willy old fox Amit Mishra removed Abhinav Manohar. He too outsmarted the batter by bowling it outside off as Manohar slices it. And, Naveen-ul-Haq takes a brilliant at the boundary. Vijay Shankar joins Hardik Pandya at the crease.

GT 78/3 after 12 overs.

LSG vs GT: Powerplay ends!

A good powerplay for Lucknow Super Giants as Krunal nipped out Gill for a duck and also the runs haven’t been easy to come by. Saha is looking good though and would like to keep his fluency going. Hardik Pandya has walked into bat at no.3 and has scored 6 runs in 10 balls. GT 40/1 after powerplay!

Gill departs for a duck!

The move to bowl Krunal in the second over has paid off. Shubman Gill uses his feet and tries it chip it but gets the toe end of the bat and hands Ravi Bishnoi an easy catch. GT 5/1 after 2 overs.
