KKR vs LSG: LSG win a thriller!

WHAT A GAME!! WHAT AN INNINGS BY RINKU SINGH! He almost won it for Kolkata Knight Riders. He almost pulled off the impossible once again. KKR needed 40 off the last two overs, but then started the Rinku show. He fell only a run short this time. LSG spinners choked the batters in the middle and that pushed the game in their favour! Lucknow Super Giants beat Kolkata Knight Riders by 1 run and qualify for the play-offs!

KKR vs LSG: LSG tighten the grip!

The runs are dried up for KKR! LSG spinners have brought them back into the game. The Knight Riders need 63 runs in 30 balls. They are 114/4 after 15 overs with Rinku and Russell in the middle. Very nicely poised, LSG will feel it is their game now to lose. Their spin choke post the powerplay really held back the hosts.

KKR vs LSG: LSG strike back!

The spin is doing the damage! First Ravi Bishnoi removed the KKR skipper Nitish Rana and now the LSG skipper has dismissed the set Jason Roy for 45. The LSG dug-out is pumped. They might now finish top two but they still have a chance to book their play-off spot! They need to keep picking wickets here! KKR are 82/3 after 10 overs. They need 95 runs in 60 balls.

KKR vs LSG: KKR off to a flying start!

Kolkata Knight Riders have taken a flying start! Their play-off chances are almost gone, but it was impressive to see them batting with a positive intent. They would have to bat sensibly here to chase down the total down! Venkatesh Iyer is back in the hut after scoring 24 runs in 15 balls. KKR are 61/1 after 6 overs and need 116 runs in 84 balls. LSG had to bowl them out below 79, which looks fairly unlikely! It’s almost confirmed that Gujrat Titans will take on Chennai Super Kings in Qualifier 1!

KKR vs LSG: A good recovery from LSG!

From 73/5 to 176/8! The 74-run stand between Ayush Badoni and Nicholas Pooran laid the foundation for LSG’s recovery. Nicky P bashed another fifty, and Badoni supported him with brisk 25-run cameo! Lucknow Super Giants finish with 176/8

The target for Kolkata Knight Riders is 177 runs in 120 balls. LSG must bowl KKR out for 79 or under to finish in the top two. KKR need to chase this in 8.5 overs to beat Rajasthan Royals on NRR! Miracles do happen in sport, so it will be interesting to see how both teams react to this situation!

KKR vs LSG: LSG eye a strong finish!

Nicholas Pooran has blasted his way to 37 runs in 19 balls. LSG have lost half of their team, but owing to Pooran’s counterattacking start, they can still see a good total. KKR has the option of playing all-spin for the rest of the innings, but they must first get rid of Pooran. LSG are 119/5 after 15 overs, they might be aiming for a score somewhere between 170-180!

de Kock out, Pooran in!

Quinton de Kock falls to a googly by Varun Chakravarthy and is the fifth LSG wicket to fall tonight. This brings the T&T dynamite Nicholas Pooran to the crease who starts by smashing Chakravarthy for 4,4,6 off his first three balls! A tricky phase for LSG, interesting how will they play this! LSG 88/5 after 11 overs.

KKR vs LSG: Super Giants lose skipper at half-way mark!

The pressure was building on the two batters and one had to go! Krunal Pandya takes the onus on himself to break the shackles but finds Rinku Singh at the deep square leg boundary! Lucknow Super Giants are 73/4 at the end of 10 overs.

Two in an over for Vaibhav!

Vaibhav Arora strikes! First Mankad holes out at sweeper cover and then a ball later gets rid of the dangerous Stoinis for a duck! Another bouncer, takes Stoinis by surprise and balloons off the glove as Venky Iyer grabs a simple chance! LSG 55/3 now!

KKR vs LSG: A good powerplay for LSG!

After a quite start, Lucknow Super Giants have picked up some pace scoring 39 runs off the last 3 overs of the powerplay. Prerak Mankad is looking good, QDK is looking sublime. They need to continue as they need a big score in the must win game! LSG are 54/1 after 6 overs.

KKR strike early!

Short ball aimed at the body of the batter. Karan tries to draw the ball, but it hits him high on the bat and flies straight up. Shardul moves forward from short midwicket and settles underneath it. Good lengths from Harshit Rana rewards him with his first wicket.

Toss Update: Kolkata Knight Riders have won the toss and have opted to bowl!

Build-Up..

In the 68th game of the Indian Premier League 2024, Kolkata Knight Riders will face Lucknow Super Giants. The match will be played at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. A game where both teams would be looking for a victory. LSG have a shot to make a fuss-free entry in the play-offs. Follow the feed for KKR vs LSG: Live Score and Update.

Kolkata Knight Riders have won six of their 13 games and are now eighth in the points table. In their most recent encounter against the Chennai Super Kings, the Knight Riders chased down a 145-run target in 18.3 overs.

Lucknow Super Giants have won seven of their thirteen matches and are third in the points standings. The Super Giants defeated the Mumbai Indians by five runs in their last encounter.

What to Expect?.. A traditional Eden surface, with the powerplay and death overs likely to belong to the batters and the spinners having a chance to make an appearance in the middle overs. The toss doesn’t make a huge impact at this ground as there have been three wins batting first and three while chasing at this venue this season. There are 75% chances of rain tonight, but all IPL fans would hope it stays away for the next few hours.
