Just In: Gautam Gambhir is likely to be leading Lucknow Supergiants on the auction Table. The IPL Mega auction 2022 will be held on 12th and 13th February. Earlier, Gautam Gambhir was named to mentor the brand new IPL franchise Lucknow Supergiants. In this IPL there are 2 new teams competing. According to sources, Gautam Gambhir will be leading Lucknow Supergiants on the auction. Moreover, Coach Andy Flower can also accompany him to the Mega Auction table. This year the auction is going to be very important. Since it will be deciding a franchise’s fate in the following couple of years.
Gautam Gambhir has been a part of Delhi Daredevils from 2008 to 2010. Later, he also led Kolkata Knight Riders to win the IPL title twice in 2012 & 2014. He returned to Delhi Daredevils in 2018. However, he stepped down as the captain mid-way. Consequently, Shreyas Iyer took his place. In addition, Gauti had played some important knocks for the Indian team as well. Some credit India’s world cup wins- both 2007 & 2011 to his astonishing performances. Also, he has played 58 Tests, 147 ODIs, and 37 T20s.
Gautam Gambhir is the mentor of Lucknow Supergiants
Earlier, it was announced that Gautam Gambhir will be mentoring the new franchise. He will have an advisory role and will be a ‘guiding hand’. Furthermore, he will work on firming the team plans and improving the team performance. Earlier, Sanjiv Goenka of the RPSG group had bagged the Lucknow franchise for Rs 7090 crore. The owner welcomed him to the RPSG family. In response, Gambhir had thanked Sanjeev Goenka.
