Analysis of final indian squad for ICC T20 world cup

The qualifier stage of World Cup already started yesterday but the main matches will be starting from 23rd October. And India will play their first match on 24th October with the arch rival Pakistan. So lets analyze how Indian Squad for T20 World Cup looks like.

Indian Squad For ICC T20 World Cup

Indian Squad for T20 World Cup looks very good on paper. They covered all the departments well. And we have some exciting inclusions as well as exclusions. There is no Yuzvendra Chahal, India’s one of the most successful T20Is bowlers. Also the likes of Shikhar Dhawan, Kuldeep Yadav are excluded. And the most surprising inclusion is Ravichandran Ashwin who last played a white ball match way back in 2017.

Full Indian Squad for T20 World Cup is:

Virat Kohli (captain), Rohit Sharma (vice-captain), KL Rahul, Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant (wicket-keeper), Ishan Kishan (wicket-keeper), Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Rahul Chahar, Ravichandran Ashwin, Shardul Thakur, Varun Chakravarthy, Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammad Shami

Stand-by players: Shreyas Iyer, Deepak Chahar, Axar Patel

Net-bowlers: Avesh Khan, Umran Malik, Harshal Patel, Lukman Meriwala, Venkatesh Iyer, Karn Sharma, Shahbaz Ahmed and K. Gowtham

Now, we will analyse each department:

Batting Department:

India’s batting lineup looks damn solid with class players at the top and also power hitters at the bottom to finish the game well. This batting lineup can easily chase any target and post big scores batting first.

Bowling department:

To be honest, India’s bowling may be a bit of concern for the team. As they include only 3 pacers i.e. Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Mohammad Shami. In addition, they will be assisted by two medium pace all rounders Shardul Thakur and Hardik Pandya. With Bhuveneshwar Kumar, being a prone to injuries and Mohammad Shami yet to prove his identity as a T20I bowler, India may find it difficult to bowl in death overs.

Ravichandran Ashwin in T20 World Cup

I personally feels that if Hardik give Team India those 2-3 crucial overs, he will turn out to be a huge asset for the team. Because when Hardik is bowling, the balance he provides is just amazing.

In conclusion, we have one of the best squad for winning the ICC World Cup. Hope so this time we’ll come back with a trophy and what is better than that to give Virat Kohli a good farewell for his T20Is captaincy.
