Ghana do not have much of a history in the FIFA World Cup has made its debut in 2006. Since then, they have never missed a World Cup except for 2018 Russia.
During the 2010 World Cup, Ghana became the third African side in the history of the event to make it to the quarter-finals. However, they suffered a penalty shootout loss to Uruguay. Earlier in 2016, they made it out of the group but got eliminated in the round of 16 by Brazil while in 2014, they did not make it out of the group.
Coming into the World Cup, Ghana has been in Abysmal form with 3 losses in their last 5 matches and must find some chemistry ahead of Qatar. Ghana has a few accomplished players who have made their names in top European leagues such as Inaki Williams, Amartey, and Thomas Partey alongside promising youngsters in Salisu and Kudus.
Considering the fact that Ghana has a fairly competitive squad compared to previous years, they will still struggle to get the better of Portugal and Uruguay.
