Who is Dewald Brevis’s Father?
Dewald Brevis was born on April 29, 2003, in Johannesburg, and his father is named Jack Brevis, while his mother is Yolanda Brevis. Yolanda is self-employed and has supported Dewald throughout his career. Dewald’s love for cricket developed early, and his family helped him practice. His father, Jack, made a pitch in their backyard for Dewald to practice and learn with his elder brother Reinard. His mother, Yolanda, would bowl for him in the absence of Reinard. Brevis is nicknamed ‘Baby AB’ or ‘AB 2.0’ because of the resemblance in his shots with the legendary player de Villiers. The South African youngster has attracted attention globally for his extraordinary performance in ICC U19 WC 2022. Brevis broke several records as well and scored 506 runs in the tournament. In doing so, he broke India’s star opener Shikhar Dhawan’s record of scoring 505 runs in WC 2004. Furthermore, he smashed a total of 45 fours and 18 sixes in the tournament with a strike rate of 90.20. In addition, he now holds the record for hitting the most sixes in an Under-19 World Cup, hitting 18 sixes.
