Deepak Chahar set to miss T20 World Cup 2022, ruled out for 4 months as per reports

Deepak Chahar was bought by CSK for 14 crores INR. However, his injury has seen CSK struggle in the season so far.

Deepak Chahar has become one of the best all-rounders in the Indian set-up currently. He has worked a lot on his batting in the past few years. Considering all these factors, Chennai Super Kings has placed a lot of their faith in him. They made their most expensive bid in IPL auction history, buying Deepak Chahar for INR 14 crores. However, he didn’t make a single appearance after his injury. Now the reports are stating that Deepak Chahar might miss the T20 World Cup 2022 as he has incurred another injury. Moreover, this injury would require him to be distant from cricket for 4 months.

Having an injury at this stage of his career would be very challenging. Deepak was in his career’s best form. Along with selectors, fans too had high hopes for him for the upcoming T20 WC. However, Hardik Pandya has been playing some class all-around cricket in the ongoing IPL. He can definitely be considered as a replacement.

Deepak Chahar to miss T20 World Cup 2022

Earlier, Deepak was said to miss a couple of matches in the IPL because of a quadriceps tear. However, he was later ruled out of the IPL 2022. Although, this disheartened IPL fans, everyone was hoping he gets fit before the T20 World Cup 2022. Currently, Chahar is India’s one of the best T20I bowlers. However, there are reports that Deepak had incurred another injury. This time, a back injury is what has become a huge blow for India. He has been recovering at the NCA, practicing in the nets. However, the recent reports of the back injury suggest he will be out of cricket for around 4 months. Later this year, the Men’s T20 WC is set to be played in October-November in Australia.

If we look at Deepak Chahar’s performance on India’s tour to South Africa, earlier this year. He has been putting consistent runs toward the second half of the game. Deepak brings a sense of balance to the team. Moreover, his bowling wonders in T20 cricket are not hidden. The best T20I spell is in his name. The 29-year-old cricketer picked 6 wickets giving only 7 runs in 3.2 overs. He also became the first Indian to take a hat-trick in T20Is. Looking at his good stats, we all wish he gets fit soon, and his great form doesn’t get hampered by the injuries.
