Firm Favorites to win the Asia Cup 2022 Title – India
The firm favorite to win the title is India. The seven-time title champions are at the third position in the ICC ODI rankings, followed by Pakistan in fourth. Whereas, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Afghanistan on seventh, eighth, and tenth positions respectively.
The Men in Blue are going to set their foot in the tournament with a new captain, Rohit Sharma, and KL Rahul as the vice-captain. Along with the experience of Virat Kohli and, Dinesh Karthik. The squad has a full-packed bowling line-up backed by the veteran duo of Ravindra Jadeja and R. Ashwin. Whereas, crafty spinners, Yuzi Chahal and young Bishnoi are going to be assets for the Indian contingent. Fast-bowlers will be led by experienced Bhuvneshwar Kumar. But will the absence of Jasprit Bumrah and Harshal Patel be felt by the team? That we hope not. The batting line-up has in-form Surya Kumar Yadav and the record breaker Deepak Hooda.

Teams are to be Careful in Asia Cup 2022
India might be the firm favorite for the Asia Cup 2022 title, but there are teams to look for if they want to retain their title. Babar Azam– led Pakistan is going to be the hardest hurdle to crossover for India. As the Pakistani squad consists of the batters ranked top two in the ICC ODI rankings. Captain Azam, ranked at first and Imam-ul-Haq in the second, are going to give Indian bowlers a tough fight.

The Dark Horse of the Tournament
Meanwhile, it will be a huge mistake to sideline team Afghanistan. Stupendous Afghanistan might not have a good and competitive batting line-up, but no team stands an easy chance against their bowling line-up. The ICC ODI bowling and all-rounder rankings seem to have multiple Afghani flags in them. Mohammad Nabi-led team consists of NO.4, NO.7 as well as NO.9 ranked bowlers in ICC ODI bowling. Namely, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Captain Nabi himself, and the very famous Rashid Khan. Nabi and Rashid are also ranked second and third, respectively in the ICC ODI all-rounder rankings.
Although, retaining the Asia Cup title, won’t be a child’s play for India. While winning in this tournament will help them assert their dominance all over the world in the ODI format. Hence we believe in our Men in Blue and wish them all the very best for the upcoming challenge.
