The most anticipated T20 World Cup 2022 will conclude soon. As the semi-finals of the marquee tournament will be played soon and the final will be held on November 13. The times that have secured a berth in the semis are Pakistan, India, New Zealand, and England.
While some players are exceeding our expectations with their outstanding performances. Three captains have disappointed us the most. Take a look,
Rohit Sharma’s flop form in the T20 World Cup 2022
While Rohit Sharma-led India has impressed us all to a very high level. However, the skipper has been disappointed a lot. On one hand, the former Indian captain is continuously putting up a great show. While Rohit Sharma is yet to be back in form.
The 35-year-old has only scored 89 runs in the five Super 12 matches, with a mediocre average of 17.8. Moreover, the HitMan Sharma was not able to hit even a single boundary in three out of the five games in the T20 World Cup.
Babar Azam- the biggest flop of the marquee tournament
The former World No.1 batter in the shortest format is going through the leanest patch of his career. However, this World Cup can be considered his biggest flop or more like a nightmare.
Having played 5 matches, the Pakistan skipper managed only 39 runs. The highest score to have scored is 25. Moreover, Azam has a poor average of just 7.8 and even a poor strike rate of 61.90. The 28-year-old has not been able to hit a single six in the tournament.
However, Babar will hoe to score some runs in the upcoming semi-final of the marquee tournament.
Temba Bevuma, the flop streak continues
Not only did the South African campaign end on a horrible note, but it has also raised a lot of questions about the team selection as well as the captain’s performance. With Bavuma being the skipper of the side, a quality batter like Reeza Hendricks was forced to remain out of the Proteas’ playing 11.
In the ongoing tournament, the right-handed batter could manage only 70 runs in five innings as an opener at a strike rate of 112.90. He got out after scoring a run-a-ball 20 in his team’s must-win game against the Netherlands.
