In the mega IPL auction this year Yash Dayal was roped in by the Gujarat Titans for Rs. 3.2 Crores. His base price was just Rs. 20 Lakhs. Initially, KKR and RCB started the bidding, with Knight Riders opting out at 75 Lakhs. Gujarat then jumped in, and RCB & GT went on till RCB opted out at 3.2 crores. Finally the left arm pacer went to the Gujarat Titans.

The 24 year old cricketer has been actively playing domestic cricket for a couple of years and this year he also bagged a heavy price tag in the IPL auction. Yash Dayal hails from Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh. This young lad impressed everyone with his bowling in the domestic circuit. The pacer closely resembles former Indian fast bowler Zaheer Khan and is labelled as ‘Zaheer Khan 2.0’ by a few.
He made his List A debut for Uttar Pradesh in the Vijay Hazare Trophy in September 2018. Next month Yash made his first-class debut for Uttar Pradesh in the 2018–19 Ranji Trophy. He made his Twenty20 debut for Uttar Pradesh in the 2018–19 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy on 21 February 2019.
Dayal played a crucial role in the recently concluded Vijay Hazare Trophy 2021-22 where he finished as the seventh-highest wicket-taker with 14 wickets in seven games to help UP reach the quarter-finals.
