Summer Transfer: Calvert-Lewin to join Arsenal this summer?

It's Jesus or Calvert-Lewin

Arsenal have been linked with a potential signing of Everton’s Dominic Calvert-Lewin this summer and the English media have backed this news over the past few days. The Everton striker has had quite a tough season this year as throughout the year he struggled with his fractured toe injury which made him miss 16 games this season. This was impacted mainly to the Everton’s squad as it saw the side move into the relegation zone battle and now with 2 games to go they are just 2 points above from being relegated.

However when fully fit and upto his mark, Calvert-Lewin has showed that he is one of the best strikers in the world as last season he scored 21 goals and provided 5 assists in just 39 appearances. According to the English media, Arsenal have been scouting Calvert-Lewin for well over a year with Arteta being the main man to back him. But it could be a very costly move for Arsenal if they decide to sign him this summer as it is said that Everton has quoted a price of 60 million euros for Calvert-Lewin for them to begin the negotiations. This was considered outrageous from Arsenal because this year he has only scored 3 goals, but Everton knows his qualities when he is fit hence they quoted this price.

Arsenal’s current highest scorer is Bukayo Saka with 11 goals and only Emile-Smith Rowe has achieved double figures this season with 10 goals. So Calvert-Lewin could really be the striker that Arsenal need and Arteta could bring the best out of him All in all, it’s down to the battle between Gabriel Jesus and Calvert-Lewin to be Arsenal’s striker next season.
