Arsenal looks to sign Arthur Melo from Juventus, reports.

It has been no secret that Arsenal have had a quite a busy summer so far as they have secured a number of top signings ahead of the 2022-23 season. And now according to various reports in the English media, they are now close to sign another player and that player is in the form of Arthur Melo who is a midfielder at Juventus. Arthur has been linked with the Gunners previously too as the North London club tried to sign the Brazilian back in January but they were unsuccessful in completing the deal. But now it is believed that Arteta is pushing for this signing and Arsenal might go all out for him.

Arthur joined the Serie A side from Barcelona in 2020 for a cash-plus player deal and hence Juventus had paid around 75 Million Euros and gave Pjanic to the Spanish club in exchange for the Brazilian. However, since his arrival he hasn’t quite managed to live up to his expectations and has been constantly linked with an exit from the club over the past few years. Whereas Arsenal have been linked with a number of top midfielders with Lyon’s Lucas Paqueta and Leicester City’s Youri Tielemans being at the forefront of the Gunners list. They are also just about to announce the signing of Zinchenko from Manchester City who can play in the midfield too.

But should they choose to sign Arthur, agreeing to a deal with Juventus may not be complicated as the Serie A giants are absolutely keen to sell the midfielder and Allegri might even leave him out of his squad for pre-season so that the midfielder can sort his future out. Now that his value has decreased drastically from an astronomical amount of 70 Million Euros to 20 Millon Euros, it is likely that Arthur might see this move in order to rebuild his career and possibly make the Brazilian squad for the World Cup. So in the end it will come down to Arsenal and it would be interesting to see whether they choose Paqueta, Tielemans or Arthur to sign this summer.
