Canada is one fascinating team that qualified for the world cup; however, they are not looking like a competent squad. They are one of the four teams from the CONCACAF to have qualified along with Mexico, the USA, and Costa Rica.
Canada has been trying to qualify for the FIFA World Cup since 1958. Although they have failed on multiple occasions, they finally qualified for the 1986 edition hosted by Mexico. Losing all three games and failing to score even a goal meant it was a tough route back for Canada. Since then, Canada has lacked the required talent and quality of players good enough to qualify for the world cup. Qatar 2022 will only be the second time the Canadians participate in the tournament.
Canada qualified for the world cup by finishing on top of the final round of CONCACAF qualifications. The Les Rouges have few decent players in their lineup such as Captain Atiba Hutchinson, Canada’s Top scorer Cyle Larin and Bayern Munich star Alphonso Davies.
