Their only positive in Test Cricket is Joe Root. His batting in Test Cricket is just outstanding. He is the third highest batter to score most runs in a calendar year in Tests. Who won MOM in AUS vs ENG 3rd Test?
Scott Boland, the debutant in this test match, impressed everyone with his bowling and for his incredible bowling, he was adjudged as the Man of the Match in Australia vs England 3rd Test. In the first innings, Boland was able to take only 1 wicket. But in the second innings, he implemented the learnings from the first innings. Though, in the second innings, he only bowled 4 overs, but those overs were enough to get the best out of him. He has taken 6 wickets in those 4 overs. He was unplayable in his spell. Boland had a dream debut. Currently, Josh Hazlewood is not playing in this Test Match. Now, Australia have to decide whom to play in the next test. It is difficult to bench such a player who has taken 6 wickets in the last innings.
1st Innings
Australian captain Pat Cummins won the toss and invited England for batting. England made huge 4 changes in their lineup. The results were not going in their way. But England openers once again gave a flop show. Joe Root once again, settled England batting lineup. He was the lone survivor in the England batting lineup. But he also got out after scoring 50 runs and his wait for a century in Australia continues. Bairstow and Stokes contributed a bit for the England score but England only managed to score 185 runs. All Australian bowlers were brilliant. Pat Cummins and Nathon Lyon were the key bowlers with three wickets each. Cameron Green also bowled beautifully. Though, he got only 1 wicket. But he contained the runs. In 8 overs, he only gave 7 runs.
And Australian batting once again started well. Their openers gave them a brilliant start. But Warner fell after fifty runs partnership. After that, Australia saw a top order collapse. Marnus Labuschagne and Steven Smith got out cheaply. At one point of time, it was looking that Australia can’t take much lead but Marcus Harris stood strong at one end. He scored 76 runs and made sure that Australia had enough runs on the board. Also, with the effort of lower middle order, Australia managed to take a lead of 82 runs. For England, James Anderson was exceptional. He took 4 wickets and all 4 were important wickets and at important times.

2nd innings
And England continued their horrible batting form. They have serious issues to solve. Their openers are consistently not performing. Once again, both the openers got out in single digit. Dawid Malan also got out on a golden duck. Once again, Joe Root was the highest run scorer in this innings. But this time he was able to score only 28 runs. And there were only 2 batters who were able to score runs in 2 digits. For Australia, Scott Boland, the debutant, was outstanding. He bowled only 4 overs in the second innings and took 6 wickets in those 4 overs. He was unplayable. Mitchell Starc picked three wickets and England were bundled out for just 68 runs. England managed to score only 68 runs and Australia won this Test Match by an innings and 14 runs. And Australia won the Ashes 2021-22.
And with this win, Australia retains the Ashes Trophy with them. But there are very serious issues for England. They have made 4 changes coming into this match. But still, they gave a poor show in batting. England also equaled the record of most Test defeats in a calendar year. Joe Root is the lone survivor in this England batting lineup. He is also the highest run scorer in Tests in 2021. He had a dream 2021 in terms of batting. But in terms of captaincy, he had a poor year. Though, he didn’t get the support of his teammates. At last, England will play the next two matches for self respect as the series is won by Australia.
