RCB won the toss and decided to bowl. RR openers Jos Buttler and Devdutt Padikkal couldn’t do the magical opening stand they have been in the past matches. Mohammad Siraj gave RCB their first breakthrough, dismissing Padikkal in the second over for 7 runs. The next 2 wickets of Ravi Ashwin and Buttler fell in quick succession. Skipper Sanju Samson looked in good touch today but he too was sent away by Hasaranga at 27. Requiring 145 in 120 balls, the run-chase seemed just a formality for Bangalore initially. Changing his batting position, Virat Kohli promoted himself up the order and opened today with Skipper Faf du Plessis. But Kohli again today added an opal to his string of low scores as he departed for 9 in the second over. Du Plessis and Rajat Patidar were just starting to build a budding partnership as Prasidh Krishna gave RR another breakthrough. Faf was dismissed for 23 in the 7th over. Next ball and Maxwell goes for a golden duck. With the top and middle-order shattered, RCB kept losing wickets at crucial moments of the game. Except, Hasaranga who scored 18 of 13 deliveries, rest all the batters got out scoring single-digit runs. RCB was all out for 115. Kuldeep Sen bagged 4/20, along with Ashwin’s 3/17 and Prasidh Krishna’s 2/23.
