KKR had won the toss elected to bowl. Mumbai couldn’t open the innings too well as Umesh Yadav drew the first blood. He got rid of a dangerous hitman aka Rohit Sharma in the third over. Then, Dewald Brevis stabilised MI’s inning hitting 29 in 19 balls. We saw the vintage Surya Kumar Yadav back in action as he hit all over the park. Yadav made 52 runs in just 36 deliveries, hitting 5 fours and 2 sixes. Moreover, Tilak Verma too played a crucial inning of 38. Then came the Big man, Kieron Pollard whose cameo in the last over gave Mumbai 22 runs in just 5 deliveries. Mumbai made 162/4 in their 20 overs.

With 163 to chase, KKR openers struggled in the initial overs. With the pressure building, Rahane was dismissed by Tymal Mills in the fifth over. Sixth over and the KKR skipper goes for 10. While wickets kept falling on the other end, Venkatesh Iyer kept the scoreboard ticking for KKR. Murugan Ashwin gave a double blow dismissing Sam Billings and Nitish Rana in his successive overs. Mills struck again as he dismissed the dangerous Andre Russell over a top edge. But, the best was yet to come for KKR. Then Pat Cummins made his way to the crease, Cummins hammered 56 runs in just 15 balls making the joint fastest fifty in the history of IPL and took KKR past the winning mark.
