RCB won the toss and elected to bowl. CSK openers Robin Uthappa and Ruturaj Gaikwad opened CSK’s inning looking in good touch. RCB got its first breakthrough early in the 4th over with Hazelwood sending back Gaikwad for 17. Moeen Ali who came next couldn’t do much as he got run out over a brilliant fielding of debutant Suyush Prabhudessai in the 7th over.
Then, well-settled Uthappa and Shivam Dube launched a double-sided attack, absolutely decimating RCB’s bowling lineup. Robin made 88 runs in 50 balls hammering 4 fours and 9 sixes. Dube made an unbeaten 95 runs in 46 balls, hitting 5 fours and 8 sixes. CSK made a massive total of 216/4.

IInd inning
With a huge target to chase RCB openers had to fire from the first ball of their inning. But CSK’s mystery spinner Maheesh Theekshana delivered in his very first over removing RCB skipper Faf du Plessis. The second blow comes for RCB as King Kohli departs for 1 in the 5th over. His next over and Maheesh removes the other opener, Anuj Rawat, for 12. Glenn Maxwell and Shahbaz Ahmad balance RCB’s inning for a couple of overs. But Jadeja dismissed Maxwell in the 7th over and RCB strangled at 50/4.
Debutant Suyesh Prabhudessai and Shahbaz formed a good partnership in the middle overs. Shahbaz made a crucial 41 in 27 balls and Suyesh made 34 in 18 deliveries and both were removed by Maheesh Theekshsana who took 4 wickets. With wickets falling like bowling pins RCB couldn’t keep up with the run chase and in the end lagged behind by 23 runs.
