IND vs SL: Virat Kohli Can Play For Next 10 Years, Break Sachin Tendulkar’s Elite Record: Former India Coach

Virat Kohli a name when reverberates, India gets going. The run machine is known for his vibrant personality and the aura he brings into the cricket ground. Over the years King Kohli has scored tons of runs and played some mind-boggling innings. He has been time and again compared to another great of the game, Sachin Tendulkar. Cricket analysts have often juxtaposed the career graph of the two Indian cricketing legends. Kohli is the only Indian cricketer and in fact, the only cricketer ever who has wandered close to Tendulkar’s batting record in international cricket. Experts do believe Kohli alone in the modern day cricket has a potential to break some of them.

Former Indian Coach believes Kohli can breach Sachin’s 200 test mark

Former Indian coach Anshuman Gaekwad was all in praise for Virat and has backed the former Indian skipper to break Sachin Tendulkar record of 200 Test matches appearances. Gaekwad believes Kohli could play international cricket for 10 more years and break Tendulkar’s feat in the process. The legendary Indian batter is currently 33 years of age and played his 100th Test match against Sri Lanka in Mohali earlier this month.

“It is a great achievement to play 100 Test matches and still keep going the way he has. The big difference is the experience he has gained by playing in 100 Test matches. As long as he is fit, nobody can touch him. He is so conscious of his fitness that I won’t be surprised if he goes to 200 because of the kind of series of matches they are playing, the frequency is so high that it is a question of another seven or eight years, and he will land up close to 200. Am sure he will be fit and play for the next 10 years, the way he is going,”

Gaekwad told News18

Gaekwad was head over heels with Kohli’s attitude and intent towards the game. He further stated Virat’s never say die attitude not only gets him going but also gives his teammates an ideal to look upto.

Kohli is not only performing and leading from the front but also the amount of experience he has gained as a player, as a captain, is a big thing. He has shown the world that there is no going back. He doesn’t want to accept defeat. His thoughts have been very positive, he never gives up until the end.”

His attitude, his personality, his actions on the field show that he is not a guy who is going to give up, and he is one to fight it out till the end. That is what he has shown the world.
