Washington Sundar is an Indian International all-rounder and has been a part of IPL since its 10th season. Sunrisers Hyderabad won the bidding war against other franchises and gained Sundar for 8.75 Crore. Taking him into the team will strengthen the off spin bowling attack of Hyderabad. Along with that, he will also help in making runs for the team in the last overs of the match. Sundar attracted interest from Gujarat Titans, Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings who were having an auction clash to invest in him. Although, Sunrisers Hyderabad jumped in nearly at the last moment and welcomed Washington Sundar into their team.

Sundar is a former player of Royal Challengers Bangalore and was a part of the franchise since 2018. He has delivered his contributions wholly to the team with the ball as well as with the bat during death overs. Although, Washington Sundar was not able to perform in the previous season of the Indian Premiere League. He was ruled out of the second-half of the tournament because of a finger injury. However, he still managed to make his off-spinning effort count by taking 3 wickets in six matches in the first half of IPL 2021.
