The Indian contingent for the upcoming Commonwealth Games 2022 received a grand send-off. Since the event’s contingent has been successful in attracting many sponsors, the Indian Olympic Committee announced a colossal prize money. JSW Inspire has been roped in as the Principal Sponsor of the Indian CWG Squad. For all the Indian athletes winning medals there will be a cash prize. However, this will be different depending on whether they have won the Gold, Silver, or the Bronze medal. Rajeev Mehta, the secretary general of the Indian Olympic Committee announced the incentives at the send-off event held in New Delhi. Commonwealth Games 2022 Prize Money: How much cash prize will be paid to the athletes?
Every athlete bagging the Gold medal will take home ₹20 lakhs. Whereas all the silver medalists will be rewarded with ₹10 lakhs. In addition, the bronze medalists will get an incentive of ₹7.50 lakhs.
Anurag Thakur, the Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports have showed great believe in Indian contingent. He also emphasized on how India has been doing considerably well in the recent past, citing the exceptional performance at Tokyo Olympics.
Thakur who was also the Chief guest of the event said, “The Indian CWG squad is definitely our best and strongest ever and I am confident that all our athletes will make India proud on a global stage yet again, the number of medals they win notwithstanding. We are all proud of them and the whole country will be behind them, whether in victory or in defeat. We wish you all the very best.”

The last Commonwealth Games were held in Australia in 2018. India managed to bag 66 medals, including 26 gold medals at the event. This helped India stand 3rd after Australia and England. This year, the badminton, hockey, and other sports have promising squads. Since this is a historic development in cricket, India is eyeing to make it even better by winning.
