India’s Tour of Bangladesh has reached the final stage with the ongoing second and last Test match. Despite a disappointing ODI series where India lost the series 2-1 to the hosts, the team showed character while playing in the whites. The first test witnessed India clinching a well-earned win in the match that stretched to the final day. Kuldeep Yadav, meanwhile, earned the Player of the Match award for his staggering bowling performance. Moreover, Yadav’s brilliant batting effort in the first innings helped India get a headstart in the match. Though the match saw Shubman Gill scoring his maiden test century and Cheteshwar Pujara reaching his fastest test century. However, Yadav made the greatest impact in the clash for India, ultimately, reaping a win.
Player of The Match in The First Test, Kuldeep Yadav Back on the Bench
Kuldeep Yadav’s return to the team couldn’t have been better than this. Consequently, the audience was sure of the fact that Yadav has earned a sealed spot in the squad again. However, as things stand now, Yadav’s position in the team is starkly different than expected. The Player of the Match awardee of the first test has been now placed on the bench for the second test. Meanwhile, Jaydev Unadkat has made a comeback after 12 years of absence from the team. While the spectators are ecstatic about Unadkat’s return, they’re thoroughly confused about Yadav’s exit from the Playing 11.
Kuldeep Yadav, making a comeback in the game after 2 years, staged a five-wicket haul in the first test against Bangladesh. Bowling in both innings, Yadav cumulatively scalped 8 wickets. Not only this, the dynamic leg-spinner, batting at the tail-end scored a patient 40 off 114 in the first innings. Yadav’s contribution in batting led India’s score to par 400, ultimately, putting them in a position of dominance. The all-round performance of Kuldeep Yadav in the first test was nothing short of perfect. However, seems like the 8 wickets weren’t enough for Yadav to earn a spot in the Playing 11 for the second test, no matter, how nonsensical it sounds.
