According to the Spanish media, Manchester United’s Aaron-Wan-Bissaka could be on his way to join Spanish giants Ateltico Madrid. Bissaka is not exactly leading the list for Ateltico as a right back but Ateltico’s board members have already approached United for a potential deal and enquiry about the player. Diego Simeone’s side really need new defenders in their backline next season as their current full back Sime Vrsalko is set to leave the club this summer as his contract is expiring. Which leaves only Marcos Llorente and Daniel Wass as their only options at right back but they both prefer to play in the midfield. Kieran Trippier was their first choice right back but he moved to Newcastle in the January transfer window.

Bissaka joined Manchester United in 2019 for almost 50 Million Euros from Crystal Palace, but he hasn’t performed at his absolute best in recent months and hence there are reports in England that United’s new manager Erik Ten Hag doesn’t consider Bissaka in his plans. Ralf Ragnick too has preferred Diogo Dalot over Wan-Bissaka during his time at Manchester United. And as of now United are considering a loan move for Bissaka this summer rather than a permanent transfer to the Wanda Metripolitano. So Atletico won’t have a risky deal even if it doesn’t work out with Bissaka.
However they aren’t the only team who are interested to sign him as Jose Mourinho would like the right back to play for his team AS Roma and his former team Crystal Palace are looking to submit a bid for him too. Bissaka may prefer a move to his former side Crystal Palace but his wages of around 100,000 euros a week might be a problem for them but for Ateltico it won’t be an issue. So all in all it would be interesting to see if Simeone can get the best out of the United right back.
