Marcelinho joins NorthEast United on loan from Rajasthan United FC. As a result of the move, he will remain with the “Highlanders” until the conclusion of the season.

In his debut season in the ISL 2016, Marcelinho scored 10 goals in 15 matches with Delhi Dynamos FC. He was the top scorer and winner of the golden boot in that ISL season. The 34-year-old also had the most goal contributions (15) in the same season.
In the 2017-18 season, he was the top goal contributor for FC Pune City during their incredible run to the semis. Marcelinho was directly involved in 15 goals (8 goals + 7 assists) in only 17 appearances that season.
The next season, he scored six goals and added four assists for Pune. In 2019-20, the Brazilian joined the newly created Hyderabad FC and played an important part for the Nizams. For the 2020–21 season, he joined Odisha FC. He joined ATK Mohun Bagan on loan during the January transfer window after nine appearances for Odisha FC in the Hero ISL 2020-21. Marcelinho and the Mariners made it to the finals of the ISL 2021-22 but came up short.
The Brazilian mostly plays as a winger but can play as an attacking midfielder depending upon the needs of the team. He is the 5th highest goal scorer in the history of the ISL, with 33 goals in 79 matches. With only nine points after eleven games, North East United are now in ninth place. They will definitely look to improve and move up the table with such a valuable addition to their squad. Marcelinho finally joins NorthEast United on loan from Rajasthan United FC and this is a big transfer in the January transfer window.
