The Indian Super League (ISL) was founded in 2014 with the goal of taking Indian football to new heights. It paid off with the development of many new, young, and emerging players. However, there is one issue that the ISL has not been able to resolve: the dearth of Indian attackers in the league. There are a large number of foreign players among the top 10 players with most goals in the Indian Super League.
Attackers like Ferran Corominas, Bartholomew Ogbeche, Roy Krishna, Nerijus Valskis, and Igor Angulo have dominated the competition over the years in terms of goals scored. While their Indian rivals haven’t posed much of a threat, No Indian was able to win the golden boot award – the most goals scored in a season in the history of the ISL.
Despite all this, there are some serious attacking Indian talents in the league who have played their part and have provided goals. So, here are the top ten Indian players with most goals in Indian Super League.
10. Liston Colaco* – 9 Goals
Liston Colaco made his ISL debut with FC Goa in the 2017-18 season. After spending the first half of the 2019-20 season with FC Goa, he joined Hyderabad FC. During the 2020–21 season, he was a regular starter for Hyderabad. ATK Mohun Bagan signed him for a record amount for an Indian player in April 2021.Â
9. Seiminlen Doungel* – 10 Goals
Seiminlen has represented NorthEast United FC, Delhi Dynamos FC, Kerala Blasters FC, FC Goa, and Jamshedpur FC throughout the years in the ISL. In the ISL 2017-18, during a match between NorthEast United FC and Chennaiyin FC, he scored all three in a 3-1 win for NorthEast. This made him the club’s first-ever hat-trick scorer.

6. Jackichand Singh* – 13 Goals
Jackichand scored only two goals in his first two ISL seasons with the now-defunct FC Pune City and Mumbai City FC. He recorded two goals and three assists for the Kerala Blasters in the 2017-18 season. But his breakthrough season came after he moved to FC Goa the following season.
The attacking midfielder became one of FC Goa’s most significant players. He helped the team reach the final of the Hero ISL 2018-19, where they lost to Bengaluru. The 29-year old was part of the FC Goa team that won the Hero Super Cup in 2019 as well as the ISL League Winners Shield in the 2019-20 campaign. In FC Goa’s successful 2019-20 season, he had a total of eight goal contributions (5 goals + 3 assists) in 18 matches.
5. Bipin Singh* – 13 Goals
At No. 5 is Mumbai City FC’s Bipin Singh, with 13 goals from 67 appearances. Bipin made his ISL debut in the 2017-18 season with ATK FC. After that season, he joined Mumbai City FC. It was his excellent performance in the 2020–21 season that caught everyone’s eye. He scored six goals and provided four assists that season, which included a hat-trick (the only hat-trick of the 2020–21 season).
4. CK Vineeth – 13 Goals
CK Vineeth had a disappointing debut season in the ISL in 2015, in which he went nine games without scoring a goal for Kerala Blasters FC. The forward rebounded in 2016, scoring five goals and finishing as the top Indian goal scorer. His five goals and an assist helped Kerala reach the 2016 final.
The 2018-19 season was his final with the Blasters, with the second half of the season spent at Chennaiyin FC. After that season, he represented Jamshedpur FC and SC East Bengal.
3. Lallianzuala Chhangte* – 20 Goals

He helped Chennaiyin FC to a runner-up finish that season by scoring seven goals. The winger’s seven goals that season were the second-highest by an Indian, only behind Sunil Chhetri.
With 20 goals in 88 games, Chhangte ranks 12th in the ISL’s all-time goal-scoring standings.
2. Jeje Lalpekhlua – 24 Goals
‘The Mizo Sniper’ is Chennaiyin FC’s leading goal scorer in the ISL. Jeje has played for Chennaiyin since 2014. In the 2015 season, he was directly involved in 9 goals (6 goals + 3 assists) in just 11 matches. He scored nine goals in the 2017-18 season and was the team’s leading scorer during their second championship season.
He has 24 goals in 76 matches, which puts him 2nd on the list of top 10 Indian players with most goals in Indian Super League.
