Christiano Ronaldo and Manchester United Reach Mutual Agreement, Ronaldo to Leave With an Immediate Effect

“Cristiano Ronaldo is to leave Manchester United by mutual agreement, with immediate effect."

In the latest update, Christiano Ronaldo has left Manchester United with an immediate effect. The official statement says that both parties have reached the decision with mutual agreement. While the decision comes after a phase of turbulent days between the club and the player, the club expressed gratitude for Ronaldo post their separation. The 37-year-old Portugal star has spent a considerable time with the club. However, their journey together has come to an abrupt end post the scandalizing interview of Christiano Ronaldo.

Manchester United released a statement informing about the legendary player’s exit from the team. “Cristiano Ronaldo is to leave Manchester United by mutual agreement, with immediate effect,” the official release read. “The club thanks him for his immense contribution across two spells at Old Trafford, scoring 145 goals in 346 appearances, and wishes him and his family well for the future,” it added. “Everyone at Manchester United remains focused on continuing the team’s progress under Erik ten Hag and working together to deliver success on the pitch.”

Christiano Ronaldo also chose to offer his fans some clarity on the situation. Confirming his exit, the 37-year-old issued a statement of his own. “Following conversations with Manchester United we have mutually agreed to end our contract early. I love Manchester United and I love the fans, that will never ever change,” he said in the statement. “However, it feels like the right time for me to seek a new challenge. I wish the team every success for the remainder of the season and for the future.”

All That Transpired Between Christiano Ronaldo and Manchester United

Christiano Ronaldo in a two-part interview with Piers Morgan made shocking revelations about Manchester United. The interview conducted mere days ahead of the FIFA World Cup caused heatwaves among the team’s and the player’s fans. Ronaldo, in the interaction, took aim at the team manager Erik ten Hag. And he accused the top hierarchy of the club of not being involved in the team. “I feel betrayed,” Ronaldo said as he explained how the club was trying to push him out for the last two years. “Some people, I feel, don’t want me here. Not just this year, but last year too.”

Moreover, Ronaldo accused manager Ten Hag of not respecting the player enough. “I don’t have respect for him because he doesn’t show respect for me,” Ronaldo said aiming at Ten Hag. “If you don’t have respect for me, I’m never gonna have respect for you,” he added. Moreover, he accused the club of not being emphatic when Ronaldo was going through a hard time. Ronaldo lost his young son back in April and has now accused the club of not being considerable of his pain during that period.

The interview, as intended, carried the amount of substance that broke the internet within mere minutes. The club, seeing the effect that interview caused, released a statement of its own. “Manchester United has this morning initiated appropriate steps in response to Cristiano Ronaldo’s recent media interview,” it said. “We will not be making further comment until this process reaches its conclusion.” The club took legal action against Ronaldo as per their agreement which demanded the players to “comply with and act in accordance with all lawful instructions of any authorized official of the club.” However, seems like both Ronaldo and Manchester United have chosen the less complicated path now as Ronaldo limits his reach to Old Trafford.
