The Portugal star has reached 500 million followers on the social media app, breaching one more glorious feat. Lionel Messi follows Ronaldo in this race with 376 billion recorded followers. Moreover, Ronaldo has also earned over 105 million followers on the bird app, Twitter.

Ronaldo achieved 500 million, just a day after his recent photo with arch-nemesis Lionel Messi broke the internet. Christiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi posted a photo posing together with a chess board in the midst. The photo posted just ahead of the FIFA World Cup commencement instantly went viral. The same photo has earned over 3.7 million likes on the platform within just hours of coming up.

With Ronaldo capturing the world’s most followed position, Lionel Messi is in the second spot with 376 million followers. Social media star and entrepreneur Kylie Jenner is at number 3 with a 346 million count, while Selena Gomez is at the 4th spot with 357 million followers. Dwayne Johnson is in the seventh spot on the list having 348 million followers on Instagram. Indian star and world-renowned cricketer Virat Kohli is in the seventh position with 224 million followers on his Instagram account.
