Barcelona did not alter Robert Lewandowski three-game suspension after the Tribunal Administrativo del Deporte (TAD) denied their appeal.
Barcelona Robert Lewandowski on three-match Ban
The Polish international will now miss the La Liga matches against Espanyol, Atletico Madrid, and Getafe. In their 2-1 victory over Osasuna in November, Robert Lewandowski received a red card in the first half for. Which he was scheduled to serve as a one-match suspension. However, Lewandowski’s actions toward the referee resulted in a two-game suspension.
After receiving two yellow cards, Lewandowski walked toward the locker room while holding his finger to his nose. Although the club contested the ruling, the three-match suspension has now been upheld by the Court of Arbitration for Sport. The court’s ruling means that Xavi Hernandez, the manager of Barcelona, will be without his striker for the upcoming derby against Espanyol on December 31. Lewandowski will also miss a match against Getafe at home. And a crucial La Liga match against Atletico Madrid in the Spanish capital.
Now that their star striker, who joined from Bayern Munich in the summer, is gone. The Blaugrana will have to improvise without him. Lewandowski has scored 18 goals in 19 appearances, including 13 goals in 14 league games, making an immediate impact on his new team.

“The Body” Statement on the Ban
During an interview with Sport, Lewandowski “It’s challenging because, in my opinion, three games are too much for what I accomplished. Because of that, it hurts to be unable to play three games.” The Pole later acknowledged that I directed the gesture towards Xavi, the head coach of the Blaugrana.
“With the referee, nothing occurred. The referee had nothing to do with the fact that they gave me three matches. Concerning the coach and me, that is. I can only say that. I spoke with Xavi a few weeks prior, and he advised me to be cautious if the referee issued me a yellow card, Lewandowski continued”.
“That was merely a gesture used to indicate his inability to comprehend what was taking place. It was a topic that Xavi and I had previously discussed. Nothing made sense to me, Lewandowski continued. In the meantime, he had this to say about his time at Barcelona: “I will continue at Barcelona as long as I am in shape and hungry for titles. The champion’s mentality is what we must possess.
