The fact that they qualified from the qualifiers after a 36-year absence and finished ahead of nations like Mexico and the United States in the final round was evidence of their potential.
But this group really means business. Canada didn’t just show up to fill in the numbers; they dominated CONCACAF’s final table after crushing pre-qualifying. Perhaps a few individuals will be surprised by them.
Canada must maintain its composure on the big stage. After earning a draw against the United States on the road during World Cup qualifying in Qatar in 2018, Canada traveled to the Aztecs. It outperformed Mexico in one of the most challenging settings in sports, ultimately agreeing to another draw. The Reds defeated both major CONCACAF whales at home in bitterly cold weather to secure their trip to Qatar.
Nobody would have more motivation to defy the odds than John Herdman’s team, which is now in Group F with Belgium, Croatia, and Morocco.

1. Tajon Buchanan
Unlike the stars who followed him in this compilation, Buchanan wasn’t the subject of pre-release hype and he didn’t make his international breakthrough while still a youngster. Davies is already the most decorated male football player in Canadian history, and he is on the verge of joining the ranks of Donovan Bailey, Nancy Greene, Wayne Gretzky, Gordie Howe, Clara Hughes, Fergie Jenkins, Steve Nash, Christine Sinclair, and Jacques Villeneuve as one of the greatest athletes in Canadian history.
If he succeeds for the Canadians in Qatar, he might do so exceptionally before turning 22. He has been hailed as one of the top players in the world because of his supersonic, rock-shouldered, and electric ability.
