However, West Indies managed to bring their batting back on track. By the end of the powerplay, West Indies’ scoreboard showed 44/1. But in the 7th over, Yuzvendra Chahal picked WI’s second wicket by sending Mayers back to the pavilion. By then, Mayers had hit 31 runs off 24 deliveries. The debutant Ravi Bishnoi made the most out of his first game. His bowling since the first ball was on point. However, it was in his second over that he ended both Powell and Chase’s innings. Although the wickets kept felling at regular intervals, Nicholas Pooran kept putting those essential runs on board. Pooran completed his fifty with a four. Captain Pollard and Nicholas Pooran seemed to be in good sync, scoring runs. However, Harshal Patel’s brilliant delivery tricked Pooran into giving a catch to Virat Kohli. Hitman Sharma and Ishan Kishan gave a strong start to the Indian team. They made the most out of the powerplay, scoring 58 runs with no loss. Rohit had hit a good shot, however, it was caught just at the boundary. Rohit Sharma’s innings ended, he scored a brilliant 40 off 19. However, this didn’t affect India much, Ishan Kishan and Virat Kohli used the momentum. This didn’t go on for too long. since both Ishan and Virat went out in quick succession. Ishan Kishan managed to add 35 runs to the team’s total. Both the Openers’ wickets were picked by Roston Chase.

Rishabh Pant played his cameo. However, the in-form Suryakumar Yadav and Venkatesh Iyer stabilized the match for India. A couple of boundaries by SKY in the 17th over helped release the pressure a bit and had also brought down the required run rate. It was SKY and Venki’s important partnership of 48 runs off 26, that won India the match. Surya scored 34 runs hitting 5 fours and a six. While Iyer contributed an important 24*. India won the match by 6 wickets.
