Shahbaz Ahmed is an Indian cricketer who plays for Bengal in domestic cricket and for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in Indian Premier League (IPL). He is generally a bowling all-rounder who bats occasionally. Shahbaz made his List A debut in the 2018-19 Vijay Hazare Trophy for Bengal against Jammu and Kashmir at Chennai. Three overs were bowled by him and took one wicket in the match. Two months later, he made his Ranji debut against Hyderabad where he scored 27 runs and took a wicket as well. He made his Twenty20 debut in the 2018-19 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy for Bengal against Haryana at Cuttack. Also, he was bought by RCB in 2020 IPL auction where he made his debut against Rajasthan Royals (RR).

IPL Salary
In 2022 IPL Mega Auction, RCB bought back uncapped Indian player Shahbaz Ahmed for INR 2.4 crore. He was retained by RCB in IPL 2021 auction. The all-rounder was signed by the Royal Challengers Bangalore ahead of the 13th season of the Indian Premier League for INR 20 lakh. RCB could only manage to score 149 against SRH in 6th match of IPL 2021. It was difficult for RCB to stop SRH from achieving this target. But it was Shahbaz Ahmed who led the team to victory. The spinner dismissed Jonny Bairstow, Manish Pandey and Abdul Samad in the 17th over of SRH innings and he played a huge role in RCB’s 6-run win.
