Test cricket, the genesis of now popular limited-overs cricket, was never so dependent on power hitting as the modern-day T20 and T10 cricket is. Test cricket has often witnessed batters taking 60-70 deliveries to open their account but also seen them raining boundaries to post an impregnable total or reach some magical mark to draw the Test. 5. Jack Kallis- South Africa

The legendary South African all-rounder who made his debut in international cricket in 1995 was a superstar for the proteas as he batted up the order and was a wicket-taking medium pacer. Having played 166 Test matches and scored 13289 runs with 45 centuries Kallis hit 97 maximums in his test career.

4. Chris Gayle- West Indies

Better known as Universe Boss aka Christopher Henry Gayle was a monster indeed it didn’t matter if its a T20 or a Test match Gayle always loved raining sixes on the opposition. Making his Test debut back in 2000, he played 103 matches for West Indies and made over 7000 runs with 15 centuries. Gayle hit 98 sixes in his Test career. 

3. Ben Stokes- England

The current England skipper is the only active cricketer on this list so Stokes will be seen improving his position in the months to come. Ben Stokes made his Test debut in the year 2013 and till now he has featured in 82 games. He has made 5255 runs with 11 centuries and hit 100 sixes so far equaling Adam Gilchrist’s record.

2. Adam Gilchrist- Australia

Australia’s Wicket Keeping legend Adam Gilchrist comes second on this list having played 96 Test matches and making over 5500 runs. Gilchrist has hit a century of sixes in his Test career.

1. Brendon McCullum- New Zealand

Current England’s red-ball coach and New Zealand’s former Captain Brendon McCullum tops this list. McCullum made his test debut in 2004 and featured in 101 Tests. He made 6453 runs with 12 centuries and hit 107 sixes. During his last test match, he even hit the fastest test century in just 54 balls and signed off in style.
