5. Matt Prior (England) – 105 balls

The famous wicketkeeper batter of England made his mark right from his first game. Matt made his test debut on 17 May 2007 against West Indies. Debuting in the Mecca of Cricket – Lords Prior made an unbeaten 126 runs hitting 19 boundaries. He hit his century in just 105 balls. Matt went on to play 79 tests and made over 4000 test runs and finally retired in 2014.

4. Prithvi Shaw (India) – 99 balls

The Young Mumbai batter is the latest and the youngest entrant on this list. Prithvi made his test debut on 4 October 2018 against West Indies at Rajkot. However, despite making a strong debut he has been in and out of the team due to his inconsistent form and fitness. On his debut, he played a knock of 134 runs in 154 balls hitting 19 fours. His century came in just 99 balls and it makes him fourth among Top 5 Players With Fastest Century On Debut Match.

3. Dwayne Smith (West Indies) – 93 balls

A popular name around the world in franchise cricket, Dwayne Smith has always proven to be a worthy asset. He can clear boundaries at will and has the ability to break crucial partnerships with his seam bowling. Smith’s test debut was long back on 2 January 2004 against South Africa at Capetown. He made 105 runs in 105 balls hitting 15 fours and 2 sixes. However, he hit the three-digit runs in just 93 balls.

2. Reeza Hendricks (South Africa) – 89 balls

The young Proteas batter made his ODI debut on 5 August 2018 against Srilanka at Pallekele stadium. With a strike rate of 114.6, he hit 102 runs in 89 balls thrashing 8 boundaries and a six. He became the third South African in history to hit a century on debut.

1. Shikhar Dhawan (India) – 85 balls

Despite having a sporadic test career the one thing Shikhar could look back on proudly was his test debut. Dhawan made his test debut on 14 March 2013 against Australia in Mohali. He batted brilliantly throughout the innings playing his flamboyant cuts around the park. His natural aggressive batting was at the display as he brought up his maiden test century in just 85 deliveries. The record remains still unbroken after 10 years since his debut. He made 187 runs in 174 balls hitting 33 fours and a pair of sixes.
