The Australian fast bowler, Jason Behrendorff made his way into RCB after they bought him for INR 75 lakhs during the 2022 mega-auction. However, the team made no room for Behrendorff in the playing 11 even for a single match. Despite being in the tournament for as long as 5 years, Behrendorff has made just numbered appearances in the play. Mumbai Indians initially picked him in 2018, and Behrendorff continued there till 2020. However, in those 3 seasons, Jason Behrendorff got the chance in the Playing 11 only in 2019. In the season, he picked up 5 wickets at the economy of 8.68 in the 5 matches he played.

Eventually, another champion franchise Chennai Super Kings got hold of Behrendorff for the 2021 season in the absence of Josh Hazlewood. However, Behrendorff warmed the benches until Hazlewood joined the team in the second part of the tournament in UAE. For Australia, Behrendorff has played 9 T20IS picking 7 wickets in total. His best spell for Australia is recorded as 4 wickets for 21.

In 2022, RCB put 75 lakhs on the table in the mega-auction for Jason. However, 2022 proved the same for him when he spent the whole season on the bench. Now, in the latest update, Jason Behrendorff is set to join his original team in the IPL. Mumbai Indians have showcased their first deal for the IPL 2024. Full updates about all the teams and their retained players are set to be revealed on November 15. Moreover, the mini-auction for the next season is scheduled for the 23rd of December in Kochi. The franchises will depend on their leftover purse value from the mega auction to make new choices. Moreover, they can grow their options by releasing certain players ahead of November 15.
