Jofra Archer Goes To The Paltans For A Whopping 8 Crore:
The England fast pacer has been purchased by Mumbai Indians for a total amount of Rs 8 Cr. Although, Archer will most probably not be playing the 15th season of IPL because of his health issues, he still managed to cause a bidding conflict between franchises and made them to accelerate the purchase price so that the other team backs out. Rajasthan Royals, his former IPL team along with Sunrisers Hyderabad, who stepped in almost at the ending of the bid were the two other franchises that wanted to invest and acquire Archer. However, Mumbai Indians prevailed with the purchase of the pacer at last.
Jofra Archer is a right-arm fast bowler and was a former team member of Rajasthan Royals since IPL 2018. He had been the most vital part of the team and was considered as one of the deadliest bowlers. Archer has taken a total of 46 wickets in 35 matches of IPL, alone 20 wickets been taken in the year 2020. He was not able to play in the second half of IPL 2021 because of his elbow injuries along with a finger injury. It is speculated that Archer may not be available to play this year as well because of the same health concern.
