“Let Us Also Keep Some Secrets”:Rohit Sharma on Who will open for India in India vs Pakistan clash

Indian Captain Rohit Sharma is known for his quirky and witty responses during news conferences. Rohit attended a press conference hours before the India vs Pakistan match. The Hitman was questioned about the team’s opening lineup for a much-anticipated match. India has recently experimented with players like Rishabh Pant and Suryakumar Yadav at the top of the order. While Rohit Sharma has regularly opened with Virat Kohli in the past.

However, vice-captain KL Rahul, who has recovered from COVID-19 and injuries, returns to the Indian T20I team for this competition. Rahul participated in the three ODIs against Zimbabwe and has since travelled to the UAE to join the team for the Asia Cup.

When asked about who will open with him against Pakistan, Rohit came up with response:

“You can see yourselves after the toss tomorrow. Let us also keep some secrets,”

Rohit says the team is finding new answer in experimenting new batting combinations

Rohit did, however, go on to explain the reasoning behind playing those new pairs top of the order. He said the decisions taken are mutually decided and in the process the team isn’t afraid of the outcomes.

“See, our team has decided, we have decided to try some things. Some things will work, some won’t. But there is no harm in trying. Only after trying do you get answers. If you don’t try, then you won’t get answers,”

ROHIT SAID

“So whenever we get the opportunity, we definitely try some new combinations. But as far as team combinations are concerned, as I said you’ll only find out tomorrow. But our team has decided that we will keep trying new things. And if in that process, we face some difficulties, we still don’t have a problem with that,”

HE ADDED.

Because we have decided that we will try some things. We have spoken about this as a group. And we have to not have fear while experimenting. We will keep trying to find new answers, that can happen through a lot of things — batting combinations, bowling combinations. We have got quite a few answers in the last 8-10 months. So this effort will be ongoing. When the World Cup comes around, we will decide what we have to do,”

HE CONCLUDED.

The much-awaited second match of Asia Cup 2022, India vs Pakistan goes on floors today. India ready to settle scores with Pakistan in the marquee Asia Cup match in Dubai International Stadium, the fight begins at 7:30 PM IST sharp.
