KKR vs RR: RR get a thumping win!

Yashasvi Jaiswal has played one of the most remarkable innings in the game! He finishes with 98 runs off 47 balls. The outcome of the chase was decided in the first over itself! The Royals cruise to victory with 41 balls remaining! Royals’ NRR has improved by 0.63 and they move to the third spot on the table! A perfect comeback after three-straight losses!

KKR vs RR: RR off to a blazing start!

Thanks to Yashasvi Jaiswal’s onslaught, RR’s asking rate has come down to 5.14 at the end of the powerplay. The chase is well within RR’s grasp now! Samson is also chipping in the act with some wonderful strokes! The Royals would certainly look to revive their NRR in this game! Jaiswal might be eyeing the fastest IPL hundred too, cause he ain’t slowing down! RR are 78/1 after 6 overs. They need 72 runs from 84 balls.

Jaiswal smashes the fastest fifty!!

Yashasvi Jaiswal has just smashed the fastest fifty in history of the IPL! He brings up his fifty in just 13 balls. Just two weeks after his maiden hundred, he is here again shattering the record books! He walked and unleashed an carnage! Royals are 54/1 after 3 overs. The required rate has already fallen below 6 RPO! Unreal stuff!!

Yes, No, Yes, NOo, Sorry!!

The Royals lose their first wicket and Buttler walks back for a duck! Direct hit from Russell finds Buttler short. Buttler shakes his head as he is run-out. A terrible mix-up here. He was cramped for room and might have got an inside edge onto his pad as the ball rolled towards point. Jaiswal keeps running while Buttler is ball-watching. He eventually goes for it but had given up. Rana concedes four overthrows on the very next ball and Jaiswal smashes the one after that for a six! RR are 40/1 after 2 overs!! WHAT AN EVENTFUL START TO THIS CHASE! I wonder what will follow??

What a Start!

Yashasvi Jaiswal has slammed Nitish Rana for 26 runs in the first over! An authoritative start by Jaiswal and the Royals! He started the innings with 2 sixes and followed it it with 2 fours! He is the killing the chase early!!

1st over (26 runs) : 6, 6, 4, 4, 2, 4!

Impact Player (KKR): Suyash Sharma replaces Venkatesh Iyer.

KKR vs RR: RR restrict KKR below 150!

Kolkata Knight Riders have failed to cross 150. This is a slow wicket, but KKR would have liked a few more runs! RR’s fielding and Chahal becoming the highest IPL wicket taker were highlights. Chahal picked another 4-fer and derailed the KKR innings. There wasn’t any finishing kick for KKR who managed only 33 runs in last 5 overs! They end with 149/8 in 20 overs.

The target for Rajasthan Royals is 150 runs from 120 balls. The Royals have a formidable batting line-up and should get this. This is a golden opportunity for a team to break a streak of losses, chasing an under-par total! For KKR, the pitch is on the slower side and they are likely to have four spin bowling options! They would hope their spinners bring their ‘A’ game tonight to keep their fortunes in their own hands!

Chahal gets two in the over!

Yuzvendra Chahal grabs the purple cap now! He is back at the top of another leading wicket-taker chart! He first dismissed Venkatesh Iyer in a trademark fashion. Tosses one up, angling across Venkatesh’s left hand and landing well wide of off stump. Gives him little pace to work with, and all he achieves is slicing the ball up for a catch for Boult running from point. He then traps Shardul Thakur in front but the umpire didn’t raise his finger. Samson reviewed and Shardul had to depart! KKR are 131/6 after 17 overs!

KKR vs RR: KKR need a strong finish!

Kolkata Knight Riders are 116/4 after 15 overs. Rinku Singh and Venkatesh Iyer are at the crease. Iyer has held this innings together, and done it well by taking on the spinners but RR have pulled one back with the Russell dismissal. The Knight Riders need a strong finish and must reach 170 from here!

SIX AND OUT!!!

139.4, shortish delivery, Russell backs away and fails to keep it down as he tries to steer it away. A dolly for Ashwin at backward point. KM Asif strikes after being smashed for a six off the previous ball, KKR are 4 down now! Rinku Singh walks out to bat to accompany Venkatesh Iyer in the middle!

Chahal goes past Bravo!

Yuzvendra Chahal is now the highest wicket-taker in the IPL. He uppercuts the air in celebration. Hetmyer takes another fine catch. Rana went down low on the slog-sweep, struck it crisply, but couldn’t keep it down – the ball was falling towards Hetmyer who sprinted in from deep backward square, dove forward, and then grabbed it with both hands under it, holding on even as he rolled down the surface. And Chahal gets his 184th wicket and now has the most wickets in the IPL going past DJ Bravo! Kolkata Knight Riders are 79/3 after 11 overs.

KKR vs RR: KKR gains Momentum!

Thye Royals have kept KKR on the leash on a slow pitch. Venkatesh Iyer was struggling for any sort of momentum. But then he got going with two sixes off Ashwin! Knight Riders have got their moving over as Rana and Iyer take Ashwin for 18 runs. KKR are 76/2 after 10 overs.

KKR vs RR: Powerplay done!

The pitch isn’t a paradise which we usually have at Eden Gardens. Venkatesh Iyer is struggling to get a start! RR applying pressure and choking KKR here! Early assessment suggest the wicket is all for spinners with no help for seamers! But there are still runs to be had on this one, KKR must aim for 175 or above on this track! They are 37/2 after the powerplay!

Boult has another!

Another Ripper! This time its Sandeep Sharma!! A full delivery which was struck through mid-off but he couldn’t get it past a diving Sandeep. Boult has dismissed both the openers now! KKR 29/2 in 4.1 overs!

Early Breakthrough!

A brilliant catch by Shimron Hetmyer to send Jason Roy back in the hut! Hetmyer runs to the right from deep square leg, his hands are flailing after he runs across with the momentum taking him forward, but he manages to cling on. Trent Boult gets the wicket, KKR are 14/1
