Jos Buttler surpassed David Warner and became only the second batter to cross 850 runs in an IPL season. Scoring 39 runs in the final, the in-form Buttler was dismissed by skipper Hardik Pandya. Jos has had a great season but him overtaking Kohli didn’t look like a possibility.
However, Jos has equaled another of Kohli’s records by smashing 4 centuries in an IPL season. 4 centuries is the highest by any batter in a single IPL season. In addition, Buttler surpassed most boundaries in a season by smashing 127 boundaries this season. Among Buttler’s four centuries, the one that came against RCB in Qualifier 2 has been the most crucial for his team. Rajasthan Royals have been relying heavily on Buttler and the team has fallen apart after Buttler’s dismissal.
