Sunrisers Hyderabad pacer Umran Malik continues to suprise in the Indian Premier League (IPL) adding another feather to his cap. Malik bowled the fastest delivery of IPL 2022, clocking 154 kmph. He bowled the delivery against Chennai Super Kings skipper MS Dhoni on Sunday at the MCA Stadium in Pune.
He was able to surpass Lockie Ferguson’s record, who had previously bowled the fastest ball of IPL 2022 at 153.9 kmph. In the list of top 5 fastest deliveries of IPL 2022 the speedster features in four spots. However, today the pacer didn’t have the best of days against CSK, as he went for 48 runs in his 4 over spell.
Malik today registered the 154 kmph mark twice, first in the 10th over and then again in the 19th with a yorker to MS Dhoni which was dug out for a single. He also bowled the fastest ball of IPL 2021 as well clocking 153 kmph.

On Wednesday, the speedster, bagged his maiden IPL fifer in the match against Gujarat Titans at the Wankhede Stadium. Malik’s spell of 4-0-25-5 – the best of IPL 2022 so far which vandalised Gujarat’s batting lineup in the 196-run chase. His delivery to get rid of Wriddhiman Saha, was clocked at 152.8 kph. The youngster’s unusual pace has been appreciated by cricket analysts and experts worldwide.
