The eighth edition of ICC Men’s T20 World Cup is set to be played in Australia, in October-November. While the inaugural match is to be played between Sri Lanka and Namibia on October 16, the final will be played on the 13th of November at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
A total of 16 teams will participate, one in Afghanistan, the dark horse of the marquee tournament. Afghanistan has qualified directly for the Super 12. That means Nabi-led Afghanistan will not require to battle in the first round of the competition.
Afghanistan has featured in the T20 World Cup since the 2010 edition. It has managed to be victorious in 7 out of 19 matches. Moreover, its win percentage is about 36.84 in the five editions it has featured in.
