The Under 19 World Cup has just concluded and an IPL mega auction isn’t far away. The Indian U19 team won its fifth world cup trophy in the tournament’s history last Sunday. To add icing on the cake, another jackpot awaits them on the coming weekend. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, no professional tournaments were conducted at the under-19 level and therefore this victory deserves to be ranked highly among all other under 19 victories. But knowing about the financial support the future Indian stars received all this while is also important. So, in this article, we will be discussing Indian U19 players salary.
How Much Is Indian U19 Players Salary?
As mentioned above, there were no under-19 tournaments conducted since the inception of the covid-19 pandemic. So, to provide a stronger financial support to the players, the BCCI announced a hike in players’ match fees. The under-19 cricketers are now paid INR 20,000 per match for featuring in the playing XI. Whereas, the reserve players receive INR 10,000 per match. Earlier, the players used to receive INR 10,500 per match for being a part of the playing XI.

How Much Cash Prize announced by the BCCI to U19 Players After WC Win?
The latest edition of the Under-19 World Cup in Caribbean concluded on the 5th of February. As soon as India beat England in the final, BCCI secretary, Jay Shah, announced a cash prize for every player and the coaching staff. Every player will be rewarded with INR 40 Lakhs for their brilliant performances throughout the tournament. Moreover, every member of the coaching staff will receive INR 25 Lakhs for guiding the young stars in tough times.
A Bright Future Follows Great Resilience
Notably, the team showed great character in the tournament. Captain Yash Dhull, along with five members of the squad, tested positive for covid-19 midway during the competition. The team was left in a cumbersome situation and Nishant Sandhu was elevated to the post of captain in regular skipper, Dhull, and vice-captain, Rasheed’s absence. The stand-in captain led the team beautifully as India comfortably beat Ireland U19 and Uganda U19 in the two matches under his leadership.
With an IPL mega auction looming large on every cricket fan’s mind, the young stars, too, would be keen to know their fate at the mega event. Prominent names such as Yash Dhull, Shaik Rasheed, and Rajvardhan Hangargekar might turn out to be the most expensive players from this Indian U19 squad. Dinesh Bana and Raj Bawa are the other two names who might attract a lot of franchises at the auction.
