Former English cricketer’s huge statement on rescheduled Test “India put IPL before test cricket, never wanted to play the match”

India stands at 2-1 in the Test series with England. the 5th Test will be played starting from July 1.

Ex- English cricketer Newman made a big statement on the Indian team. Amidst Covid-19 cases, the 5th Test last year had to be put on a hold. However, Paul Newman believes the Indian team never wanted to play the rescheduled Test and the BCCI is more concerned with the cash-rich Indian premiere League. This is not the first time IPL is criticized by an English cricketer. The T20 League finds criticism from several cricketers for a variety of reasons.

Former English cricketer Paul Newman ‘s huge statement on rescheduled Test:

“The arrival of India to complete a Test series that should have ended at Old Trafford last summer is a reminder of how they let down the paying public and Test cricket by pulling out of the final game on the morning of the match. It was laughable when the cancellation was blamed on Covid concerns and a game India never wanted to play was abandoned when they put the IPL before Test cricket and set a dangerous precedent.”

Earlier, last year, Michael Vaughan also passed a similar comment on team India. He said, “IPL teams chartering planes .. 6 days quarantining required in the UAE .. 7 days till the tournament starts !!!! Don’t tell me the Test was canceled for any other reason but the IPL ..”

The Indian team is on a tour to England to play the 5th rescheduled Test, 3 ODIs, and T20Is respectively. Jasprit Bumrah will lead the Men in Blue in the absence of KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma.

David Gower also blamed the IPL for poor performances
