Deepak Chahar has been bought and retained by his former IPL Team Chennai Super Kings for a massive amount of Rs 14 Cr. Chahar attracted a ton of investment interests from several other franchises. The auction conflict included Sunrisers Hyderabad and Delhi Capitals during the onset of the bid for the cricketer. Although, when the amount surpassed 10 Crore Sunrisers Hyderabad chose to pull out of the bidding war. Along with these two franchises, Rajasthan Royals also stepped in against Chennai Super Kings and gave a tough fight to CSK in retaining the player.

Deepak Chahar is an Indian International medium-fast bowler and has been playing for Chennai Super Kings since IPL 2018. The franchise has been holding on to him since and currently too. Before CSK, Chahar became a part of Rising Pune Supergiants in 2016 and it was his debut team in the IPL. Even before the IPL, there were speculations that Chahar will be a purposeful target for many of the franchises this year. Not to mention, he had a fantastic 14th season of IPL last year, where his team, CSK won the trophy. Along with that, Deepak Chahar took a total of 14 wickets in 15 matches in 2021.CSK has bought and invested only in purchasing their former players i.e., Robin Uthappa, Dwayne Bravo, Ambati Rayudu and now Deepak Chahar.
